Admission 2019-2020 Master of Urban and Rural Planning

Urban and Rural Planning Discipline Khulna University

Urban and Rural Planning Discipline is inviting applications for admission in Master of Urban and Rural Planning (MURP) Program.

Admission Requirements

- For MURP an applicant must have either a 4/5 years’ Bachelor degree in Urban &

Rural/Regional Planning/Architecture/Civil Engineering/Agricultural Engineering/

Agricultural Economics/Public Administration/Sociology/Social Work/Social Welfare/

Anthropology/Geography/Environmental Studies/ Environmental Science/ Economics/

Development Studies or equivalent degree from any reputed university/institution.

- Minimum required GPA in SSC and HSC is 3.50 (out of 5.00) or First Division.

- Minimum required GPA in Bachelor level is 2.50 (out of 4.00) or Second Division.

- An in service candidate, if selected for admission, have to submit proof of having obtained permission for study from the concerned authority to the Postgraduate Admission Committee before he/she is admitted.

- Application form can be downloaded from the official website (http://discipline.ku.ac.bd/urp). Filled-in applications in PDF format can be sent to [email protected]. Application processing fee (BDT 1520.00) can be sent to +88-01718-110797 using bKash (“Send money”). Alternatively bank draft/pay-order (BDT 1500) in favor of “Head, Urban and Rural Planning Discipline, Khulna University”

(Agrani Bank, Khulna University branch) could be sent to Head, Urban and Rural Planning Discipline, Khulna University, Khulna 9208. Interested candidates are welcome to contact the Urban and Rural Planning Discipline for any further details.

Doctor of Philosophy in Urban and Rural Planning

Urban and Rural Planning Discipline Khulna University

Urban and Rural Planning Discipline is inviting applications for admission in Doctor of Philosophy in Urban and Rural Planning Program.

Admission Requirements

1. An applicant must have a Master’s degree in Urban & Rural/Regional Planning/

Architecture/ Civil Engineering/Agricultural Engineering /Agricultural Economics/ Public Administration/Sociology/Social Work/Social Welfare/Anthropology/ Geography/

Environmental Studies/ Environmental Science/ Economics/Development Studies or equivalent degree from Khulna University or any other public university of Bangladesh or any national/foreign degree recognized as equivalent by the University Grants Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh provided the candidate has completed at least 17 years of schooling at the time of application.

(a) Applicants with degree from recognized private university shall provide proof that the institute which issued the certificate (Bachelor and/or Master’s) has approval from the UGC of Bangladesh.

(b) Candidates with degree from recognized private universityshall also provide proof that the degree program has been offered at an UGC approved campus.

2. Applicants should have at least one first division or equivalent result (CGPA 3 in a scale of 4 and CGPA 3.5 in a scale of 5) in SSC or HSC or their equivalents and one first class or equivalent result in bachelor or master’s (CGPA 3 in a scale of 4 and CGPA 3.5 in a scale of 5)

3. No third division/class or equivalent result at any level.

4. In case of Master’s degree without thesis, at least one peer-reviewed publication as the first author in a journal/conference proceeding/book chapter.
