This is to certify that the project on "Design and Manufacture of a Solar Plate Collector" The project was carried out in partial fulfillment of the requirements of the degree Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Mechanical Engineering of years of 2019 and is approved as to its style and content. We declare that the work presented in this project is the outcome of investigation and research carried out by us and supervised by Md.

We also declare that no part of this project and thesis has been or is yet to be submitted elsewhere for the award of any degree. We are also grateful to all our thesis and SU project work team for their help in producing the project work and giving their valuable knowledge and time to complete the project. Finally, we would like to thank everyone who supported us in any way during the preparation of the thesis.

The solar thermal water heating system is the technology to harden the abundant free available solar thermal energy. The size of the system depends on availability of solar radiation, temperature requirement of consumer, geographical condition and arrangement of solar system etc. Therefore, it is necessary to design the solar water heating system according to the above parameters.

The available literature is reviewed to understand the construction, arrangement, applications and sizing of the solar thermal system.

These devices are mainly used for active solar heating and enable the heating of water for own needs. A flat solar collector is a type of solar thermal panel whose goal is to convert solar energy into thermal energy. This type of thermal solar panel has a reasonable price-performance ratio in temperate climates and is very suitable for a large number of thermal applications such as: space heating, water heating and many other applications.

Although solar water heaters share the same method of capturing solar radiation and converting it into heating energy for different fluids, each type is still different from the others due to the components and materials used to build it. .

The Building of the Flat Plate Collector 18

The first step is to cut a bunch of two-foot sections down from the 16-foot sections using a copper cutter. We cut 7 of them and 2 more for the top and bottom which are 24 inches each. This allows the pipe to be placed exactly two inches apart on the board evenly all the way up and down.

Slide the pipes into the plywood frame header and attach them to it using 3/8-inch screws for extra security. Cut the wooden dowel rods and insert them inside the collector to support the glass. A straight coupling is welded on the end of the outlet so you can add any pipe or connection or wherever you want the water to go.

A 21 X 24 - inch glass is placed on the frame using some silicone caulk around the edge. The tallest piece of copper in there is an eighth of an inch away from the glass and it's painted black. Choosing the right solar water heating system for a facility depends on three key factors such as climate, budget and water usage requirements. Solar water heating systems are economical, especially in commercial buildings where the energy used to heat the water is significant. Although the sun is capable of heating, its applications in water heating will be very effective if various factors such as safety, maintenance and also efficiency of the system are considered.

The basic technology of these units is studied and it is discovered that there is a need to work on the produced layout method to select, mount and track the solar water heating scheme according to availability.
