Subject: Submission of Internship Report on “Logistics and Financial Operations of the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS)”. I collected the primary data by interviewing the officers of the BDRCS and I collected the secondary data from the websites, reports and the articles. I have made proper analysis about the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS) and its logistics and financial operations for the preparation of this report.

I have prepared my internship report on "Logistics and Financial Operations of Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS)". Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS) is a humanitarian organization established in 1973 with the aim of helping people in critical and distressing times. Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS) is essentially a non-profit organization which is part of the world's largest humanitarian non-governmental organization "International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement".

BDRCS's overview and history, the organization's vision and mission, the organizational structure, the organization's partners and the board are specifically discussed in the report's chapter 3. Logistics and finance are very important sectors among all sectors in the organization. Today, Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS) has a high reputation due to its greater value.

The management board of the organization plans to invest more money in the organization and expand the business organization by introducing new sectors and departments in the business organization for future development.

Identify the activities and functions of the logistics department and their effects on people. Identify the activities and functions of the finance department and their effects on people. Generally, there are two types of data for preparing a study: primary data and secondary data.

There are various sources of primary data including questionnaires, surveys, observations, interviews, experiments etc. There are various sources of secondary data including books, newspapers, websites, statements and documents, print media etc. To prepare the research, both primary data and secondary data are collected.

Primary data was collected by conducting interviews with the officers of Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS). By taking their opinions, finally the primary data is found and it is presented in the study. In this research paper, 10 employees from Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS) are taken as sample.

From the sample of 10 employees, 5 employees are from the superior level and 5 employees are from the subordinate level. For the preparation of the research paper, 5 employees from the superior level and 5 employees from the subordinate level were randomly selected. This research was prepared based on “Logistics and Financial Operations of Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS)”.

The roles and functions of the logistics and finance operations of the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS) are specifically presented here. It took almost 2 months to prepare the internship report by taking the primary data and secondary data from the various sources. There is a lot of privacy within the organization for which I have not been able to collect much data and information from the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS).

He completed his master's degree from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) in the year of 1967. He was appointed as the Chairman of the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS) in 2021 for a period of 3 years.

LOGISTICS & FINANCE OPERATIONS OF BDRCS

Logistics Operation

From November 10, 2020 to November 10, 2021, many relief supplies were received at the National Headquarters Warehouse. These relief supplies were then sent to the various units to distribute to the people affected by the disaster. Besides the general warehouse of the BDRCS, the Chittagong warehouse is also used by the ICRC and IFRC for the storage and delivery of relief materials to the people affected by the disaster.

BDRCS also provides daily necessities to various departments from general warehouse as per demand. In 2021, various measures were introduced to reduce the use, storage and operation of the logistics department's vehicles for the implementation of the logistics department's transport work. According to the 2021 census, the society has a total of 36 vehicles, including cars, minibuses, jeeps, ambulances, pick-ups, trucks and minibuses.

BDRCS has planned to take significant steps to keep vehicles active by increasing the efficiency of the vehicle branch of the logistics department and also reducing fuel and maintenance costs. The ICT Section of Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS) was established in 2011 to facilitate information and communication technology of BDRCS. The ICT section of BDRCS basically keeps the network, database, websites, e-mail and internet connections of the employees active all the time so that they can function properly.

The ICT department also provides support in purchasing equipment, enterprise resource planning (ERP), file archiving, etc. BDRCS ICT Department provides support in various activities including information systems and databases for advanced information management, data collection and analysis on mobile devices. , data management, data collection and analysis, use of information technology in various workshops. The ICT Department monitors the digital transformation process of the BDRCS Planning and Development Department.

Finance Operation

26 The Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (FNKKGJK) has recommended the improvement of the financial management system of BDRCS, ie the activity of "Work with Program Partners". In the reporting year, BDRCS received a large amount of money from various sources. It has received almost 30 crores tk under Myanmar Refugee Relief Operation, almost 58 crores tk under Population Movement Operation, almost 16 crores tk under COVID-19 vaccination programme.

Government of Bangladesh allocated 4 crores tk to the organization for the construction of academic building of Holly Family Red Crescent Medical College which has reached almost 15 crores tk. The prefab building construction is running with the total estimated cost of 5 crores tk. The income and expenditure statement for BDRCS in the year 2021 is presented specifically on the below:.

FINDINGS, RECOMMENDATIONS & CONCLUSION

Findings

Actually, BDRCS is a humanitarian organization that focuses on helping people work together in the disasters and the critical moments.

Recommendations

Being a very valuable organization, it needs excessive employees to carry out organizational operations and activities. 29 So, the organization should keep those members in leadership positions who are experts and will be able to perform the task of leadership in the organization. Being a very valuable organization, it needs a large number of employees to effectively maintain the organizational operations.
