Mrs. Salma Karim
Mrs Salma Karim is a member of the ESTCDT, the founder of IUB. While staying abroad with her husband, Ambassador M. M. Rezaul Kaim, she was the President of the Commonwealth Women’s Association. Since her return to Bangladesh she has been a member of the Inner Wheel Club, the largest women’s organization in the country which is a sister concern of the Rotary Club. She was twice its chartered President. Currently, she is the Editor of IWC at Gulshan.
Mrs Karim is a member of Kurmitola Golf Club, Gulshan Club and Gulshan Ladies’ Community Club. At present she is its fund-raising Chairperson. This club runs a primary school project where more than three hundred street children receive education on the premises. The funding of the school and the search for doners is Mrs Karim’s responsibility.
Mrs Karim has also held the position of the President of the Bangladesh Women’s Bridge Team and has participated in international bridge competitions.
Involved in many charitable and health issues, she has participated in immunization programmes and has attended seminars on women’s health and legal rights issues. Overall, her commitment to social causes is what keeps her busy.
