Overview of the Department of Management Information Systems (MIS):
The Department of MIS is one of the prominent and fast-growing department in the Independent School of Business (ISB), Independent University, Bangladesh. IUB is a University that promotes free thinking. The school of business offers business degrees which has been accredited by ACBSP. Hence the school is pursuing total quality in every step of providing world class high standard education in business studies. The Management information systems (MIS) program is designed to provide a blended experience for the student emphasizing on both technical and functional knowledge. With strong academic foothold, this program is developed to prepare students with information systems skills and help them to incorporate in to the industry with dedicated placement programs. Moreover, besides regular classroom teaching, the faculty members are actively involved in several research projects which are published in internationally reputed peer reviewed journals on a regular basis. Research activities plays a vital role in faculty development and evaluation process in this school. The school offers opportunity for the academic staffs to participate in yearly research grant competition. Significant amount of research fund is disbursed every year through the following research centres.

Faculty Profile, Research
& Publications
In Department of MIS, the faculty members are highly academically qualified and they possess distinguished research records in their area of specialization. There are seven fulltime faculty members in the department. All the faculty members have degrees from reputed universities around the globe; e.g. North America, Europe, Australia, Japan. Besides classroom teaching, they are also actively involved in several research projects. Each faculty member presents at least one research paper in internationally reputed conferences a year. In addition, on a regular basis, they are involved in organizing conferences, seminars and various workshops in MIS Department.

Purpose The Department of Management Information System is seeking Assistant Professor to join a highly motivated and hardworking team of teaching and research staff. You will have a PhD degree in Information Systems or in a relevant discipline from a reputed university and minimum Five years of teaching experience to apply for this post.
We are particularly interested in recruiting people who have teaching and research experience in Information systems, Business process modelling, ERP systems, E-commerce, M-commerce and ICT policy. Applicants with industry background, especially as system analyst, IT manager will be given priority.
Required Qualifications Key Selection Criteria
• PhD degree in Information Systems or relevant field from reputed/recognized university
• A minimum CGPA of 3.00 on a scale of 4.00 at the Master’s degree level
• No third class at the bachelor’s degree level
• University level teaching experience of five years as an Assistant Professor
• At least three publications in the Information Systems area in reputed peer reviewed journal as an Assistant Professor of which one is in a journal of international standard
• Proficiency in English and Bangla
• Age must be less than 55 years at the time of appointment Desirable Knowledge and Skills
• Candidates must demonstrate significant potential and promise of teaching effectiveness and excellence at the undergraduate and post graduate levels, active scholarship, a track record curriculum development, student advising abilities, as well as other service to the Department of MIS, School of Business, and community.
• Experience of conducting research and publishing in reputed conference and journals in areas of Information systems, Business
process modelling, ERP systems, E-commerce, M-commerce and ICT policy.
• Experience in actively participating in research projects, conferences and seminars.
• Industry experience as Software Engineering, System/Business Analyst, IT manager, Information System Consultant.
• Candidates are also expected to have effective oral and written communication skills, effective interpersonal skills and the ability to work in an interdisciplinary collegial environment.
Position’s Responsibilities
• Teaching MIS courses, including Introduction to MIS, Database Management, System Analysis, Networking, Functional Business Systems (AIS, HRIS etc), E-Commerce, M-Commerce, Web Development, DSS, ERP Systems, Business Process Modelling, ICT Policy, in both undergraduate and graduate level programs.
• Minimum 24 credits/year teaching load is required for this post.
• Prepare and deliver high-quality lectures, tutorials, practical demonstrations, and workshops for students.
• Perform high-quality subject coordination, marking, assessment and consultation.
• Conduct researches and make publications in internationally reputed peer reviewed journals regularly.
• Contribute in course curriculum enhancement.
• Provide adequate office hour for student counselling.
• Supervise internship and senior project in the department.
• Actively participate and contribute to several activities of the Department of MIS (e.g. Conference, seminars, workshops organized by the Department).
