Lake Development on Brownfield Sites:

Lake is a large body of water and is of great value

to

human beings. They moderate the climate

of the

surroundings; maintain

the

aquatlc eco-system, enhance natural beauty, and ^provide

recreation. lt also helps to replenish groundwater. From the very beginning of

^the

establishment

of

UIAB, there was a dilapidated lake

filled with

water hyacinth. ln

fact it

was regarded as Brownfield.

The Management

of

ULAB feels

that,

healthy lakes and their shores not only provide us

with

a

number

of

environmental benefits but they influence our quality of life. ln view of maintaining of eco-system and enhancing the beautification of

the

University campus,

the

Management

of

the UIAB planned to redevelop the brownfield.
