CHAPTER -TWO Organization Overview

Beximco Communications Limited has launched the first ever Direct to Home (DTH) service in Bangladesh under the brand name AKASH with an aim to win the hearts of millions with its commitment to quality services that will revolutionize the entertainment industry in Bangladesh. the country. Although Bangladesh has high TV penetration, the country has not had the freedom to enjoy the benefits of DTH technology until now. AKASH, currently the first and only legal DTH operator in the country, aims to change the game and take Bangladesh's pay-TV industry into a new era of excellence.

Bangladesh, the 57th country in the world to have its own satellite, being on its glorious journey towards the digital age, has made it possible for Beximco Communications Limited as AKASH to offer its DTH service through the country's satellite - Bangabandhu Satellite 1 In order to add more colors to the entertainment life of customers and to respond to people's various needs, AKASH plans to bring more channels in the future and introduce services such as Video on Demand. The AKASH connection includes state-of-the-art HD Set Top Box, user-friendly multi-function remote control unit, heat and rain-proof AKASH brand Universal KU Dish, necessary cables and connectors and other accessories.

Enhancing the TV viewing experience for people is our priority and with continuous technological innovation, AKASH will redefine the TV viewing experience like never before. In addition to high-quality viewing experience and high-quality content, AKASH will offer exciting features such as program reminder; list of favorite programs, parental control, etc.

The customers can connect up to three television sets to one account at a lower cost. The new package makes it possible to connect up to three TVs in the same building and enjoy a reduced monthly subscription. Under the package, customers have to pay the standard monthly subscription amount of Tk 399 for the first connection, Tk 300 for the second and Tk 200 for the third connection.

By broadcasting the signal from Bangabandhu Sattelite-1, AKASH introduced this package for the first time after its launch in May 2019. Also, they will have to pay some extra money to replace the LNB and extra cable. Customers can purchase the Multi TV Connection package from any Beximco Communications channel, including brick-and-mortar, online, corporate and telesales.

If the distributor of "Beximco Communications Limited" agrees to initially comply with the conditions of appointment, the application must be submitted to the "Head of Sales and Distribution" together with the following documents. The distributor will be responsible for selling the products at the price set by the company and also for implementing all trade offers correctly and at the right time. The distributor will provide full support in POSM (Point of Sale Materials) BTL (Below the Line) Activity of the company.

The name, photograph, title, signature and national ID card of the three nominees must be verified and submitted to the central warehouse of “Beximco Communications Limited” and to the local office of the designated courier service. The distributor will do everything he can to achieve the goal. e) “Beximco Communications Limited” promotes business activities through the distributor's own capital. The company does not offer any form of credit facility to distributors. f) The distributor shall provide necessary logistical support based on the socio-economic and geographical location of the local area.

If part of the product is found outside its responsible territory, the distributor will be accused of illegal crossing. No two distributors may exchange products between themselves without the Company's prior written consent. The distributor's invested capital will be determined based on the monthly gross sales (circulation) of the responsible area.

The DSR's ordered Cash Memo will be handed over to the Manager by 09:00 the next day and DB House left for the market. h) Written permission of the Group Manager / Regional Manager of "Beximco Communications Limited" must be obtained before using the logo or design of the company and use the logo (correct size) provided by the company. In this case, the distribution of products must be ensured in accordance with the retailer's capacity.

Findings, Recommendations & Conclusion

So, many barriers or limitations emerge in the market and within the organization during its operation. Through my work experience at Akash DTH (Beximco Communications Limited), I have dealt with some findings which have been described based on my personal judgement. Stock availability in the market (retail): The price of Akash DTH full CPE is very high.

Low BTL and ATL activities: Since the products and service are new to Bangladesh, most of the people are not aware of the DTH service. But the APPs are not user-friendly for retailers as most of the retailers are uneducated or do not have a smartphone. Distributor Sales Representative Salary and Incentives: Distributor Sales Representative are the people who are the ultimate sellers of the company's product in the market premises.

DSR should be more qualified to work with Akash DTH but their salary and incentive package is very low and distributor is not able to provide more benefits due to current business scenario. A support salary should be provided to the DSR by the Akash DTH back office to minimize the turnover ratio of the DSR. Competitors: DTH industry is completely new in Bangladesh and Akash DTH is one and only DTH operator in Bangladesh.

So, considering the DTH operator, it has no competitors, but the target customer of DTH is already occupied with the service of the local operator. Akash DTH could offer more products and packages with variable features to compete with the other operator, especially local cable operators. DTH (Direct-To-Home) Service is one of the significant inventions that shaped a revolution in television viewing experience by the grace of modern technology and gained popularity day by day.

The results revealed that most of the users use the DTH service for its clear picture quality, HD quality channels, mobility, payment through mobile banking and the promotional benefits of several HD channels. DTH providers should improve their features and service level with the effective expertise. It is a great opportunity for me to work with the new challenging products and explore a new revolution of.
