I like Elephants

I like elephants. Elephants are the biggest land animals in the world. The African elephant is found on the continent of Africa and the Indian elephant is found in Asia. Elephants are mammals as well as herbivores, meaning they only eat plants rather than meat.

I know that there are two main types of elephants; the African elephant and the Indian elephant. The African elephant is bigger than the Indian elephant. It has larger ears too. Both the males and females have tusks. The African elephant has wrinkly gray skin, a swayed back, and two tips at the end of its trunk that it can use like fingers to pick stuff up. The tusk make elephant look really cool.

The Giraffes

Giraffes are truly giant animals. They amaze me. I like giraffes because their long neck. They can grow up to 17 feet tall and weigh as much as 3,000 pounds. The male giraffes, called bulls, are typically larger than the females, called cows. The babies aren’t exactly small either. A baby giraffe, called a calf, is 6 feet tall at birth! Giraffes also have large hearts. Their hearts can be up to 2 feet long and weigh over 20 pounds. They need these large hearts to pump blood all the way up their long necks.

An Australia kangaroo

A kangaroo is an animal found only in Australia, although it has a smaller relative, called a wallaby, which lives on the Australian island of Tasmania and also in New Guinea.

Kangaroos eat grass and plants. They have short front legs, but very long and very strong back legs and a tail. These they use for sitting up on and for jumping. Kangaroos have been known to make forward jumps of over eight meters, and leap across fences more than three meters high. They can also run at speeds of over 45 kilometers per hour.

The largest kangaroos are the Great Grey Kangaroo and the Red Kangaroo. Adults grow to a length of 1.60 meters and weigh over 90 kilos.

(5)

Dolphins

I really interested in the dolphins. They are one of the most playful and intelligent animals on our planet. Even though dolphins spend their lives in the water, they are not fish, but are mammals. Dolphins can’t breathe water like fish, but need to come to the surface to breath air.

Dolphins eat other smaller fish, but they eat squid, too, and some dolphins, like Killer Whales, will often eat small sea mammals like seals and penguins. Dolphins often hunt together, herding fish into packed groups or into inlets where they can be easily caught. Some dolphins will share their food with the young or let the young catch injured prey as practice. They don’t chew their food, they swallow it whole. Dolphins get the water they need from the animals they eat, rather than drinking ocean water.

(6)

Camel

Camel is a kind of desert animals which has big and strong body. These animals can be found in dry and desert regions in Asia and North Africa. Camel can travel in long distances without food and drinks at all in the middle of a hot desert. This can be happened because they can store their reserves food in the form of fat on its hump. Their unique foot makes them easy to walk on the thick sand in the desert. They also have thick and long eyelashes to help them see in the middle of a sandstorm. Their body is able to survive in the hot desert until the temperature reach 41 degrees Celsius. Moreover, the process of transpiration which only occurs on their skin rather than on their fur, makes camel can save a lot of reserves water on their body.

(7)

Cat

Cat or Felis (called in Latin), are carnivorous or meat-eaters. The word “cat” is said to represent an animal that has been domesticated. However, cats actually can be a tiger, lion, and cheetah which are a kind of wild animal.

A home cat which is quite familiar, is a mammal that has four legs, a tail, two pointy ears, and bushy hair. The feet have the sharp claws. You must be careful when holding the leg of a cat, because the claws are so powerful and can hurt both your hands and body.

Cat’s tail is used as a tool to communicate and to maintain the body balance. Two pointy cat ears have very good hearing. Cats even have a hearing performance two times than dogs and seven times better than human. The bushy hair is an attraction because some colors are striking and beautiful.

One thing that you should not forget is the cat’s moustaches. Cats have moustaches whose function is to detect preys in the dark. It is also used to know their emotions. When it leaning forward, then the cat is being friendly, but when leaning back, then they are in an aggressive condition. Last, the function of those is determining the change of wind direction.

Cat as the most popular pet in the world has a weight between 2.5 to 7 kilograms. Only a few cats that are able to weigh up to 10 kilograms. However, if fed in excess, you can see that the cat has a weight up to 23 pounds.

They can live up to 15-20 years. However, we now see that a cat only just able to live up to the age of 3-4 years. Meanwhile, they called as the sleeping animal. Cats can spend up to 16 hours every day only for sleeping. In addition to sleep, their another habit is licking their body in order to cleanse the body of impurities.

Rabbit

Rabbits are cute animals and have a thick hair. They have two eyes, four legs, two ears, and a tail. Their hair has become the main attraction so many people buy rabbits because of their hair color which is really fascinating. You can see a rabbit with a variety of different hair colors such as white, black, brown, gray, and others. One of the most preferred color is white, because of white, rabbit symbolized as a clean animal and absolutely adorable. Rabbit eye is very funny and most of them are back. Some types even have a red color of eye. One of the types of rabbits that have red eyes are Australian rabbits.

They have two long ears and even theirs can grow up to 10 cm. With their long ears, they could hear better and know the voices of their predators when approaching. Rabbit ears look so funny and sometimes moving up. Four feet they have are very strong, especially the hind feet because those are used as a point for jump. Front feet have 5 fingers while the hind feet have 4 fingers. Using four legs, they can run very fast and it makes them easier to run away from chasing predators.

They have an enough long body. They can grow between 20 to 50 cm with a weight between 0.4 kg to 2 kg. They has a short tail. Their tails looks like a cotton ball because it is so short. A female rabbit is pregnant for 30 days. Every birth, rabbits can deliver between 4 to 12 babies. This is why the rabbit population continues to grow rapidly and they do not become an endangered species. Females can mate since the age of 6 months, while the males when they reach the age of 7 months. After mating, the females will then make their nests in the ground to deliver the babies.

My Rottweiler Dog

I have a dog. He is a Rottweiler dog named Rogger. As another type of Rottweiler, Rogger has large size. If he stands up, his height is about 55 to 75 cm measured up to his shoulder and his weight is about 37 to 44 kg. He has large size because it is generally the type of Rottweiler dogs that always has the great body. Rottweiler dog is commonly used as a working dog. In his origin region in German, this dog is usually used to keep a cattle from wolves and foxes. My dog Rogger has a short fur that is attached to his skin, the texture is very thick and black. Rogger also has a dark brown and light brown shadow around his cheeks, chest, legs, and around his eyes. His tail is short because the tail has been cut by my father since he was puppy. His face looked very fierce and terrible. Rogger also has a very strong jaw. When his mouth opens, his big pointy teeth will appear. Then, the things that I love the most is his authoritative and very loud barking. It can frighten the strangers who heard his voice. Therefore I make him as a guard dog in my house.

Rogger placed in a large cage in front of my house. Rogger love being invited to walk around the complex of my house. My parents and I often take him a walk, especially in the afternoon. He is very excited to be invited to play. Whenever he get from the cage out, he will be very happy by bounding around the people who take him out of the cage.

BUTTERFLY

Butterflies are beautiful, flying insects with large scaly wings.like all insects, they have six legs, three body parts, a pair of antennae, and compound eyes. The three body parts are the head, thorax (the chest), and abdomen (the tail end). The four wings and the six legs of the butterfly are connected to the thorax. The thorax contains the muscles that make the legs and wings move.

Butterflies ere very good fliers. They have two pairs, of large wings covered with colourful scales. Butterflies and moths are the only insects that have scaly wings. The wings are connected to the

butterfly’s thorax (mid-section). Butterflies can only fly if their body temperature is above 27 degrees Centigrade. Butterflies sun

themselves to warm up in cool weather. As butterflies get older, the colour of the wings fades and the wings become ragged.

BIRD

Birds are the members of vertebrate animals that have feathers and wings. It is estimated that there are approximately 8800-10200 bird species throughout the world, ranging from the smallest such as hummingbirds to the biggest one such as ostriches. The birds that cannot fly such as: chicken, ostrich, duck and wild duck, while penguins are a good swimmers animals.

They have a morphology which is different one another. This

difference is adapted to their environment and food. For example its beak is so various such as beak shaped, hooked, long, small and large. The difference is adjusted to the type of their food. For example: the eagle has a strong hooked beak for tearing flesh. Its claw also has different shape. Some of them have a membrane such as in the duck legs. This membrane helps them to swim. Also, there are birds with strong claws like a hawk. Hawk’s foot is designed for gripping their prey.

They reproduce by spawning. Commonly, the eggs will be incubated before hatching. Time period to incubate every bird is different. For example chicken needs 21 days to incubate their eggs. Their habitat is also very diverse. They inhabit places that have a lot of foods such as forests, mountains, in the middle of city, sea, lakes and rivers others.

They are the biggest cat that lives on earth. Even they are bigger than a lion. Besides being the largest cat, they are also the second fastest cat in terms of running, after cheetah. In the class of carnivorous animal, they are the third largest carnivores after polar bears and grizzly bears.

They have nine sub- species of which three species have been declared Vanished. The subspecies which still live on earth are Siberian tigers, tiger South China tiger, Indochinese tiger, Bengal tiger, and Malayan tiger. In general, male tigers weigh between 180 and 320 kg, while the weight is between 120 and 180 kg for females. Their body length is between 2.6 and 3.3 meters for males, while females’ body length is between 2.3 and 2.75 meters. Crocodiles live throughout the watery tropics of Africa, Asia, America and Australia,

congregating in freshwater environments in the worlds lakes and rivers. Crocodiles feed on fish, reptiles and mammals, the prey size generally dependent on the size of the crocodile.

Legend has it that if you are being chased by a crocodile, the only chance you have of getting away is by outsmarting the crocodile. Apparently the way to do this is to run away from the crocodile diagonally down a hill! The myth says that crocodiles have a very slow turning circle meaning that if you run

diagonally, the crocodile theoretically cant catch you.

As crazy as it sounds, crocodiles are known to swallow stones when they are on the banks of the water. The crocodile does this to not only help its

digestive system but also to aid the crocodiles water buoyancy. It is thought that by swallowing stones, the crocodile may also be able to swim to deeper parts of the water.
