ABSTRACT

ENGLISH TEACHER UNDERSTANDING OF KTSP (KURIKULUM TINGKAT SATUAN PENDIDIKAN)

Muhammad Irsyad 0701050028

The aim of the research is to describe English teacher’s understanding of KTSP as the

curriculum of education in Indonesia. The method used in the research was descriptive qualitative. The research was conducted at education department in Purbalingga. The data were collected on May 21st, 2012. The writer used interview to get the data from the teacher. The samples of the research were 110 English teachers from all Junior High School in Purbalingga. The writer took sample from the teacher using random sampling.

After the write got the data, the writer made some conclusion, Most of all English

teachers’ in Junior High School at Purbalingga understands about KTSP. 31,25% English

teachers has different understanding and implementing of KTSP, 12,5% didn’t know when KTSP is implemented in Indonesia, 37,5% didn’t know about the goal of every unit education in

KTSP, 18,75% faced professionalism problem, and the last 12,5% English teacher didn’t know about school autonomy.
