THE REDUCTION OF IMPORT DUTY RATES ON SELECTED AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTS
(Decree of the Minister of Finance No. 16/KMK.01/1998 dated Januari 21, 1998)
THE MINISTER OF FINANCE Considering :
that within the framework of national economic efficiency to enhance the competitiveness of domestic products on the international market, it is deemed necessary to reduce import duty rates on selected agricultural products.
In view of :
1. Las No. 7/1994 on ratification of the Agreement Establishing the World Trade Organisation (Statute Book of 1994 No. 57, Supplement to Statute Book No. 3564);
2. Law No. 10/1995 on customs affairs (Statute Book of 1995 No. 75, Supplement to Statute Book No. 3612);
3. Presidential Decree No. 96/M/1993 as already amended the latest by Presidential Decree No. 150/M/1997;
4. The Decree of the Minister of Finance No. 378/KMK.01/1996 on the schedule for reduction of import duty tariffs;
5. The Decree of the Minister of Finance No. 440/KMK.05/1996 on the system of classification of goods and the tariffs on import goods as already amended and supplemented, the latest by the Decree of the Minister of Finance No. 603/KMK.01/1997;
6. The Decree of the Minister of Finance No. 542/KMK.01/1997 on the schedule for the reduction of import duty tariffs on various agricultural, chemical and metal products.
D E C I D E S : To stipulate :
Article 1
To lower the import duty rates on selected agricultural products so that they become as contained in the attachment to this decree.
Article 2
this decree shall come into force as from February 1, 1998.
For public cognizance, this decree shall be announced by publishing it in the State Gazette of the Republic of Indonesia.
