nealth service of Indonesia and with reference -to the

Agreement on Technical Co-operation, concluded between the

two ｣ｯｵｮｾｲｩ･ｾ＠ ｯｾ＠ January 21, 1971 have agreed upon the

following pro vi. sions :. ·

ｔｨｾ＠ parties undertake to ｣ｯｮｴｲｩ｢ｵｴ･ｾ＠ according to the conditions stated in this agl;'eemei:it, towar_ds the creation and the functioning of a Central Public Health Laboratory, knc·.\rr.. hereafter as CPHL, at Djakarta. This Laboratory, shall

·function as a reference ('""lntre ·fol::' the ｰｲｯｾｲｩｮｾｩ｡ｬ＠ ｬｾ｢ｯｴＧ｡ＮｴｯＭｲｩ･ｳ＠

and the attached regional and district ｬ｡｢ｯｲ｡ｴｯｲｩ･ｳｾﾷ＠ : . ·· ..

techniques of microbiological and chemical analysis;

pesticides.

- to proVide upgrading courses for heads of laboratories

and post""'bas:Lc training .for tabo:t'atory personnel and assist upgrading oourses organized. at the provincial health

laboratories.

Article 2

The Swiss ·party ｵｮ､Ｆｾｫ｡ｴ･ｳ＠ to make the following contributions to the project," which will be devided .into

two

phases :

FIRS·T PHASE ( 1271 ""' 1972 )

l. assUme ·the cc>·st for approxj.mately two yea.rs of post

graduate training in the laboratories of the Bio Farma Institute in Bandung of :

a). two medical dootol's in the field of bacteriology;

｢Ｉｾ＠ two Bachelor of Science graduates in the field of

virology including tis_sue-culture .•

.Switzerland shall carry the cost of

the

necessary

equ:t,pment for the t:raining of these four 'Specialists

at the Bio Farma Institute in Bandung. The expenditures

for this 'equipment shall not exceed a total of

The candidates far the sholarships offered under

points ·1 and 2 shall be chosen upon agreement between the two parties .•

B. .SECOND PHASE ( 1971 ... 19? 3 )

1. - supply the neces.sary basic equipment for the CPHL at Djakarta in the fields of virology, bacteriology, and clinical chemistry. The total cost shall not excee·d

Article 3

The Indonesian party undertakes to

CPHL at Djakarta and to assume the cost. The e.qltipmartt msntioned under article 2 B (1) will be supplied by 8witzerland

only aft.er the necessary buildings have been completede

2. supply the employees of the CPHL with adequate housing.

1'he Indonesian ｾｲｴｹ＠ shall inform at regular

intervals the Swiss party, through the Swiss Embassy at Djakarta, of the progress achieved in the construction of

the CPHL and the training of the personnel described in Article 2A, Jaragraph 1.

Unless contrary to the stipulatidns of this agreement, tne provisions in the Agreement on t he t echnical co- ope r ation , c0ncluded on January 21₁ 1971 between the Swiss Confederation ..i!'ld the Republic on Indonesia , shall be applicable .

concluded between the two c,ountries on January 21, 1971 have agreed upon the following provisions :

Article l

The parties Wldertake

Article 2

The Swiss party underkates to ma!{e the following cQntributions to the project,, which will be devided into

two phases :

Djakarta and to assume tb.e cost. The equipnent mentioned under article 2 B (l} will be. supplied by Switzerland only after the. necessary buildings have been completed.

2. supply the employees of the GPHL with adequate housing. ./ Article
