The Prevalence of Idiopathic Osteosclerosis Based on Panoramic Radiograph Taken in Dental Hospital, Faculty of Dentistry, Padjadjaran University, Bandung in the Period 2011-2012– Kesavaa Vasuthevan-160110103023
ABSTRACT
Panoramic radiography is one of the widely used photo techniques. The purpose of this study was to calculate the prevalence of idiopathic osteosclerosis in patients that sought treatment in Dental Hospital, Faculty of Dentistry, Universities Padjadjaran, Bandung in the period 2012-2013.
The descriptive research method was done on the sample of population to obtain data. The digital panoramic radiographs taken from patients who sought treatment in FKG UNPAD, Bandung for the period of 2012-2013 which were 1504 patients. From the sample, 127 panoramic radiographs were selected for the study. The samples were then sorted and divided to their age and gender. The presence of the lesions was noted and sorted by its total number of lesions present, location, shape and size of the lesion.
From this study, it can be concluded that the prevalence of idiopathic osteosclerosis of patients that sought treatment in FKG UNPAD, Bandung in the period 2012-2013 was 8.44%.

ABSTRAK
Radiografi panoramik adalah antara teknik radiografi yang paling banyak
digunakan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menghitung prevalensi
idiopathic isteosclerosis pada pasien yang berobat di Klinik Rumah Sakit Gigi
Dan Mulut, Fakultas Kedokteran Gigi, Bandung pada periode 2012-2013.
Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif dimana survei
dilakukan pada populasi sampel untuk memperoleh data. Sampel yang digunakan
dalam penelitian adalah semua data radiografi panoramik digital pasien FKG
UNPAD ,Bandung periode 2012-2013, sebanyak 1504 pasien. Dari seluruh
sampel, 127 radiografi panoramik dipilih untuk penelitian. Sampel tersebut
diurutkan dan dibagi berdasarkan usia dan jenis kelamin.
Dari penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa prevalensi idiopathic
osteosclerosis pasien yang berobat di FKG UNPAD, Bandung pada periode
2012-2013 adalah 8, 44%.
