DECREE OF THE MINISTER OF INDUSTRY AND TRADE NO. 197/MPP/Kep/6/2001 DATED JUNE 15, 2001
SURVEYOR INSTITUTIONS OF VEHICLE GENERAL WORKSHOPS
THE MINISTER OF INDUSTRY AND TRADE,
Considering :
a. that in the framework of implementing Article 3 of the Decree of the Minister of Industry and Trade No. 551/MPP/Kep/10/1999 jo. No. 191/MPP/Kep/6/2001 on vehicle general workshops, it needs to appoint surveyor institutions of vehicle general workshops fulfilling the requirements;
b. that the selection of independent surveyor institutions fulfilling the requirements has been done through auction procedures and PT. Sucofindo and PT Sawu Indonesia are declared as prospective winners;
c. that for the purpose, the companies as meant in point b need to be stipulated as surveyor institutions of vehicle general workshops;
d. that in relation thereto, it is necessary to issue a decree of the Minister of Industry and Trade;
In view of :
1. Law No. 5/1984 on industrial affairs (Statute Book of 1984 No. 22, Supplement to Statute Book No. 3274);
2. Law No. 14/1992 on traffic and land transport (Statute Book of 1992 No. 49, Supplement to Statute Book No. 3480);
3. Government Regulation No. 17/1986 on the authority to regulate, foster and develop industries (Statute Book of 1986 No. 23, Supplement to Statute Book No. 3330); 4. Government Regulation No. 44/1993 on vehicles and drivers (Statute Book of 1993
No. 64, Supplement to Statute Book No. 3530);
5. Presidential Decree No. 18/2000 on the technical directives for the procurement of goods/services in government institutions;
6. Presidential Decree No. 234/M/2000 on the establishment of the cabinet for the 1999-2004 period;
7. Presidential Decree No. 165/2000 on the status, tasks, functions, authority, organizational structures and working arrangements of ministries as already amended the latest by the Presidential Decree No. 172/2000;
8. Presidential Decree No. 177/2000 on the organizational structures and tasks of ministries;
9. Decree of the Minister of Industry and Trade No. 6/M/SK/1/1994 on provisions concerning the regulation of vehicle general workshops;
Observing :
The official note of the Director General of Metal, Machine, Electronic and Multifarious Industries No. 080/ILMEA/II/2001 dated February 12, 2001 in candidates for surveyor institutions executing the classification of vehicle workshops.

as surveyor institutions of vehicle general workshops.
SECONDLY :
The surveyor institutions as meant in First Dictum shall have the following tasks : 1. To undertake jobs of classification of vehicle general workshops by referring to :
a. Decree of the Minister of Industry and Trade No. 551/MPP/Kep/10/1999 jo. No. 191/MPP/Kep/6/2001 on vehicle general workshops;
b. Decision of the Director General of Metal, Machine, Electronic and Multifarious Industries No. 04/SK/DJ-ILMEA/V/2000 on requirements for and scoring of classification of vehicle general workshops;
c. Decision of the Director General of Metal, Machine, Electronic and Multifarious Industries No. 09/SK/DJ-ILMEA/VII/2000 on provisions and procedures for certification of vehicle general workshops;
2. To socialize the classifications of the workshops and develop an information system accessible by general workshops and the public at large;
3. To monitor workshops already acquiring certificates of workshop classes periodically and impose a sanction in the form of revocation of certificates, in the case of the workshops failing to comply with the required criteria in accordance with their respective classes;
4. To publish results of the classification of workshops and monitoring of workshops already classified.
THIRDLY :
month to the Minister of Industry and Trade through the Director General of Metal, Machine, Electronic and Multifarious Industries.
FOURTHLY :
In the case of the surveyor institutions as meant in FIRST Dictum ignoring or failing to execute their tasks or violating the provisions in force, they shall be subjected to an administrative sanction in the form of the revocation of the appointment as surveyor institutions for classifying vehicle general workshops.
FIFTHLY :
This decree shall come into force as from the date of stipulation.
