I. INTRODUCTION
The relationship between culture and politeness has been studied by researchers. Culture is part of human being. It is considered to be group- specific behavior that acquired, at least in part, from social influences. It is created and transmitted to other in a society. Cultures are not the product of lone individuals. They are the continuously evolving product of people interacting with each other. Cultural pattern such as language and politics make no sense except in terms of the interaction of people. Because culture is the result of the interaction among people.[1]
Politeness is very important in the communication. The communication cannot run well if the member and listener do not obey the politeness. Politeness is the terms used to describe the extent to which actions, such the way we say something [2]. When we are speaking, the utterances we produce are our action to show the politeness. The utterances should be able to save the hearer's and feeling enjoyable. The utterances through the language we use will be a judgment whether we are polite or not, but we have to learn the politeness because politeness is not something we are born with, but something we have to learn and be socialized [3]. Human societies use communication strategies to avoid or minimize conflict and increase comfortable and understood.
[3][4]. Speaking politely with other speaker is conducted to maintain the harmony of relationship and to avoid conflict.
Mandailingnese is one of the several numbers of the etnich group in Indonesia which is known as ethnic groups that uses politeness in communication. Mandailingnese uses its language in daily life. In making a communication to interact mandailing is familiar to be polite or in mandailingnese language calls hasopanan. To be poite is very important because politeness is the way to avoid conflict in communication.
Mandailing people usually use modesty as a one of the
value in “ makkobar”. For example, anak boru ( from the male family) said that “ inda adong nataroban nihami, on maido
nabisa hami oban indahan nasomargule” ( it means that. They brought rice and the fish). So, from this example anak boru use modesty maxim to show their appreciation to mora. Another example, anak boru ( from the male family) said that " sattabi sappulu maradopkon mora dijunjung do tuanna di dege-dege do tilakona tarlobi ni barisan ni namora na toras rap dohot raja i. Anggo hami do da barisan anak boru laing na totop do hami on manjuljukon namora. Moda napade ning mora nami, napade juo doi di him". It means that mora always
agree with mora’s opinion. So, from this example anak boru
Politeness is the best expressed as the practical application
of good manners or etiquette. ‘strategic conflict avoidance’,
which canoidance of conflict is represented as a consc be measures in terms of the degree of effort put into the
avoidance of conflict situation’ and the establishment and
maintenance of comity[5]. The avoidance of conflict is represented as a conscious effort on part of the person being polite.
politeness is an interaction, can then be defined as the
means employed to show awareness of another person’s face
332 relationship the signed for facilitating the interaction [7]. This
way is used to avoid the conflict. politeness is the discovery of everyday attitude to avoid the conflict in interaction[4].
From the previous explanation of politeness state by some theories, it can be seen that all this theories are related to the way of being polite to make the communication runs well. In Mandailingnese culture such Makkobar, the speakers from mora and anakboru are turn taking to make oral communication. The utterances will be formulated as polite as posible in order to save the hearer’s face. In this party, politeness strategy which is formulated by Leech will be seen in order to see how politeness strategies are used by communication [8]. Pragmatics also involves the relation between language and context that are basic to an account of language understanding [9]. Pragmatic concerns itself wich how people use language within a context and why they used language in particular ways.

2. Illocutionary act: the performance of an act in saying something( Vs. The general act for saying something).
3. Perlocutionary acts: Speech act that has an effect on the feelings, thought or action of either the speaker or listener.
D. Politeness
Politeness as one such ideology is seen as such a fixed and shared system. Politeness is strategy conflict avoidance with can be measured in terms of the degree of effort put into the avoidance of a conflict situation and the establishment and maintenance of community [5].
And then politeness means acting so as to take a count of the feelings of others and includes both with positive face (the wise to approved) and negative face the wish to be unimpeded, free from imposition of left alone [2]. A further assumption face is constantly at risk, since any kind of linguistic termed a face threatening acts need to be counterbalanced by appropriate doses of politeness[2].
potential for aggression as it seeks to disarm it and makes possible communication between potentially aggressive parties [7].

Related to Makkobar, the relatives of the group of people from the woman or bridge are called Mora to the relatives of the man or bridegroom called anakboru. Therefore, anakboru tries to be polite as good as possible in the wedding ceremony where the oral communication happens during this party. For this reason, it is better to know the politeness expressed in Makkobar.

In Mandailing culture, politeness strategy shown by using of pronoun and indirect speech. Next, there are five types of politeness strategies found in this research. They are Generosity Maxim, Approbation Maxim, Modesty maxim, Agreement maxim, and Sympathy maxim. The tyes of politeness strategies Leech universally can be discussed with this finding. States that there are six types of politeness strategies [5]. They are tact maxim, Generosity Maxims, Approbation maxim, Modesty maxim, Agreement Maxim and Sympathy Maxim. It can be concluded that although the theory found by Leech is used universally, it is not applied at all. In addition, Modesty Maxim is dominantly used by Mandailingnese people. This shows the characteristic of Mandailing people applying politeness by to be modest. This shows that Mandailingnese people try to minimize expression of praise of self, and states that Generosity Maxim is dominantly used by Javanese. It is different with Mandailingnese.
Finally, from the findings that the use of the phrase is not still maintained culturally. Past time ago, the use of phrases such as " Marsomba to Moratta" has been changed into the use of maxims, indirect speech, and pronoun. It can be seen the culture of being polite has been changed in Mandailing Language.
