Abstrak

Tujuan penelitian adalah menganalisis dan merancang sistem informasi geografi untuk persebaran BTS Jabodetabek dan Wilayah Banten pada PT. Indosat Tbk. Metode penelitian menggunakan metoda fact finding teknik,metoda DBLC dan metoda waterfall (SDLC). Hasil yang dicapai berupa aplikasi Sistem Informasi Geografi (SIG) untuk persebaran BTS Jabodetabek dan Wilayah Banten. Simpulan aplikasi ini dapat

membantu divisi operasional, manajemen dan pemeliharaan didalam pelaksanaan tugasnya.

Pendahuluan

Kemajuan dan perkembangan teknologi yang memungkinkan setiap manusia selalu menginginkan kemudahan, kecepatan dan sistem informasi yang relevan untuk memudahkan dalam segala aktivitasnya. Sistem informasi geografis (SIG) sebagai suatu perangkat yang digunakan dalam pemetaan dan analisa terhadap banyak aktifitas diatas permukaan bumi menjadi salah satu jawaban untuk mengatasi keinginan manusia tersebut, dalam hal ini berkaitan dengan PT. SMART DATA GLOBAL (SDG) yang ditunjuk oleh PT. Indosat Tbk untuk menangani seputar masalah pembangunan dan pemeliharaan Base Transceiver Station (BTS). Dengan menerapkan strategi yang dirancang untuk membantu PT. Indosat Tbk menjadi salah satu provider penyedia telekomunikasi utama internasional di Indonesia.

PT. SMART DATA GLOBAL (SDG) melakukan pengolahan data Base Transceiver Station (BTS) sebatas hanya melakukan monitoring manual terhadap BTS–BTS yang telah ada. Penentuan lokasi–lokasi penempatan BTS dan penyedian dalam menentukan masa kontrak sebuah BTS masih belum efektif, karena melihat tingkat kebutuhan aplikasi sistem informasi geografis yang mampu menganalisis dan memberikan informasi lebih lengkap. Maka dari itu, aplikasi pendukung sangat

dibutuhkan oleh perusahaan tersebut guna memudahkan monitoring terhadap wilayah Jabodetabek dan wilayah Banten yang menjangkau sinyal PT. Indosat Tbk dan untuk memberikan pelayanan yang lebih maksimal.

Maka dari itu PT. SMART DATA GLOBAL (SDG) dalam mengerjakan hal tersebut memerlukan suatu aplikasi sistem informasi geografis terkomputerisasi yang mampu membantu menganalisis dan memberikan informasi secara spasial untuk persebaran Base Transceiver Station (BTS) PT. Indosat Tbk di wilayah Jabodetabek dan wilayah Banten. Sistem informasi terkomputerisasi diharapkan juga berguna untuk membantu divisi pemeliharaan, manajemen dan operasional agar dapat mendapatkan informasi yang dibutuhkan secara cepat dan tepat. Dengan memakai bantuan dari sistem ini, diharapkan PT. SMART DATA GLOBAL (SDG) dapat meningkatkan pelayanan dan memudahkan penyampaian informasi untuk PT. Indosat Tbk terutama dalam urusan pemeliharaan, manajemen dan operasional BTS.

Skripsi ini menampilkan informasi geografis yang berkaitan dengan informasi dan persebaran BTS di wilayah Jabodetabek dan wilayah Banten yang menjangkau sinyal PT. Indosat Tbk agar dapat mengetahui wilayah potensial untuk pembangunan BTS baru. Selain itu informasi yang didapat antara lain mengetahui masa kontrak dari BTS tersebut, kemudian mengetahui status kepemilikan BTS dan status kerusakan BTS.

Metodologi

Metode yang dipakai

1. Wawancara

Untuk mengumpulkan data yang dibutuhkan yaitu dengan melakukan wawancara dengan pihak PT. SMART DATA GLOBAL (SDG) yang menangani pembangunan dan pemeliharaanBase Transceiver Station(BTS) PT.Indosat Tbk dengan sistem yang sudah berjalan guna mendapatkan data dan informasi yang dibutuhkan.

2. Studi Kepustakaan

Dengan menggali informasi sesuai dengan literatur yang berkaitan dengan SIG, sistem basis data, dan pemetaan digital. Sumber pustaka tersebut dapat berupa literatur kuliah, karya ilmiah, artikel-artikel tertulis, dan sumber-sumber lainnya yang bersangkutan dengan pembuatan skripsi ini. Karya ilmiah diciptakan agar tidak menyimpang dari teori dan aturan yang telah ada.

3. Dokumentasi

Melakukan pengumpulan data dari perusahaan tentang pembangunan dan pemeliharaan Base Transceiver Station

(BTS)PT.Indosat Tbk pada sistem perusahaan PT. SMART DATA GLOBAL (SDG) yang sedang berjalan.

2 Metode Perancangan Database

Metode perancangan Database menggunakan metode DBLC, yang meliputi:

1. Definition of needs.

stageoftranslating thesoftwarerequirementsanalysis phase representation designneedsto beimplementedintothe programinthenextstage oftheprogrammerto translatethe design intoa programming language.Designsoftware produced in this stage also needs to be documented.

3. Implementationandunit testing.

At this stageistoimplement andtest the softwarethat has beendone.Software thathaspassedthe test in the implementation. Focus on softwaretestingin terms offunctionalandlogictoensurethatall parts aretested.This is donetominimizethe error andmake surethe outputisgeneratedas expected.

4. Integrationandsystem testing.

Afterthe stage above has been implemented, then at this stage is the stage of theunification of software that has been done and then tested the system that has been made.

5. Operateand maintenance.

Did not rule outasoftwarechangewhensent to theuser.Changescanoccur because oferrors that appearandwas not detectedduring testing or softwaremustadapt to new environments.Phase or pemeliharaansupporterscan repeat theprocess of developingspecificationsfrom software analysis changesthat are alreadythere,butnottocreatenewsoftware.Besidesother SDLC methods incl ude:

1. Data FlowDIagram(DFD). 2. State Transition Diagram (STD). 3. Interface design.

a. Hardware Specification 

Minimum hardware specification needed in terms of implementing the Geographic Information System application on PT. SMART DATA GLOBAL is mentioned below:

1. AMD Processor Athlon 2.0 Ghz.

2. 2 Gb of RAM (Gigabyte).

3. 256 Mb of VGA (Megabyte).

4. 2 pieces of Lan Card

Hardware needed that can be used as client are : 1. A personal computer

2. A Lan card

b. Software Specification

Software specification needed for implementing this application are mentioned below :

1. Server

Operating System : Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Database : Microsoft SQL Server 2008 2. Client

Operating System : Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 3 Besides, both server and the client should have application as mentioned below:

1. ArcView GIS 3.3 2. Arc GIS 10

3. Microsoft Visual Studio 2010

2.2

Evaluation

 

After completing and designing this Geographic Information System software, then evaluation to the system is needed.

Below are some evaluation from the Geographic Information System application that has been made :

1. Programs run smoothly without bugs or errors.

2. Features from this application is already been answered the problem that the company has given.

3. There are some problems when displaying buffer on a new spot that made in the application.

4. Notification problem like “not responding” appearing quite often when application is running.

Conclusion

Conclusion that we can concluded in this Analyis and Designing Geographic Information System for the BTS Coverage in Jabodetabek and Banten Area on PT. Indosat Tbk. is to fulfill the needs from the main problems that PT. SMART DATA GLOBAL has using a kind of Geographic Information System application that is intended to help the system, among them are:

1. PT. SMART DATA GLOBAL does not have spatial data for the BTS, so the thesis group is make an application for the BTS Coverage.

2. The availability of this Geographic Information System application for the BTS Coverage is already solved the problem that company has. 3. Operational division knows exactly direct position the BTS tower spread

range on digitalized map as well as the area that has been covered by the BTS Coverage. Management division knows the rent status or the ownership a BTS. And also displayed those land rent deadline. Maintenance Division can see the position and the damage status from each BTS so it can speed up maintenance time.

Besides, this application can only modify, adding, or deleting any data from any BTS that is needed. But because the lack of other supportive information, this application cannot be accurate enough when determining the desirable result.

Introduction

Progress and development of technology that allows every human being has always wanted the ease, speed and the relevant information system to facilitate in all its activities. Geographic information system (GIS) as a device used in the mapping and analysis of the many activities on the earth's surface to be one answer to overcome the human desires, in this case related to the PT. SMART DATA GLOBAL (SDG) is appointed by PT. Indosat Tbk to deal with issues surrounding the development and maintenance of the Base Transceiver Station (BTS). By implementing strategies designed to assist PT. Indosat Tbk became one of the major provider of international telecommunications provider in Indonesia.

PT. SMART DATA GLOBAL (SDG) perform data processing Base Transceiver Station (BTS) limited to only perform manual monitoring of base stations that already exist. Determination of the placement locations of base stations and the provision of a contract in determining the BTS is still not effective, because it saw the need for geographic information system applications that are able to analyze and provide more complete information. Therefore, application support is needed by the company in order to facilitate the monitoring of the Greater Jakarta

and Banten region that spans the signal PT. Indosat Tbk and to provide more leverage.

Thus the PT. SMART DATA GLOBAL (SDG) in doing so requires a computerized geographic information system applications that can help analyze and provide spatial information for the spread of Base Transceiver Station (BTS) PT. Indosat Tbk in Greater Jakarta and Banten region. Computerized information system is expected to also be useful to assist division maintenance, management and operations in order to obtain the required information quickly and accurately. By using the help of this system, is expected to PT. SMART DATA GLOBAL (SDG) to improve services and facilitate the delivery of information to PT. Indosat Tbk, especially in matters of maintenance, management and operational base stations.

This thesis shows geographic information relating to information and the distribution of base stations in Greater Jakarta and Banten region that spans the signal PT. Indosat Tbk to be aware of potential areas for development of new base stations. In addition to information obtained, among others, find out the contract of the base stations, and then find out the status and ownership status of BTS damage.

createdin order not to deviatefrom the theory andthe rules that already exist.
