Abstract. In this paper, the relationship between the (P, Q)-orthogonal symmetric and symmet-ric matsymmet-rices is derived. By applying the generalized singular value decomposition, the general expres-sion of the least square (P, Q)-orthogonal symmetric solutions for the matrix equationATXB=C

is provided. Based on the projection theorem in inner space, and by using the canonical correlation decomposition, an analytical expression of the optimal approximate solution in the least squares (P, Q)-orthogonal symmetric solution set of the matrix equation ATXB=C to a given matrix is

obtained. An explicit expression of the least square (P, Q)-orthogonal symmetric solution for the matrix equationATXB=C with the minimum-norm is also derived. An algorithm for finding the

optimal approximation solution is described and some numerical results are given.

In this paper, necessary and sufficient conditions are given for the existence of the group inverse of the block matrix A A..

Some results relating different matrix partial orderings and the reverse order law for the Moore-Penrose inverse and the group inverse are given.. Special attention is paid when

In this paper, we study the Moore-Penrose inverse of a symmetric rank-one perturbed matrix from which a finite method is proposed for the minimum-norm least-squares solution to

Incidentally, note that a corollary of Theorem 3.1 (see the corollary below) allows the elegant solution of classical problems of analytical geometry, such as finding the parametric

To prove our functional central limit theorem for rescaled martingales, we do not need to work in the canonical setup of the latter result of Jacod and Shiryaev (1987) nor do we have

We now show how the uniform law of large numbers in Theorem 1.1 can be used to prove the hydrodynamic limits for the system of RWRE as stated in Theorem 1.4.. Proof of Theorem 1.4:
