InWEnt – Qualified to Shape the Future
InWEnt – Capacity Building International, Germany, is a non-profit organisation with worldwide operations
dedicated to human resource development, advanced training, and dialogue. Our capacity building programmes
are directed at experts and executives from politics, administration, the business community, and civil society.
Our Programmes
60 percent of all our programmes are implemented at the request of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). In addition, we conduct programmes for other German federal ministries and international organisations. We are also working in cooperation with the German business sector in public private partnership projects that can be designed to incorporate economic, social, and environmental goals.
The programmes for people from developing, transition and industrialised countries are tailored to meet the specific needs of our partners. We offer practice-oriented advanced education and training, dialogue sessions, and e-Learning courses. After the train-ing programmes, our participants continue their dialogue with each other and with InWEnt via active alumni networks.
By offering exchange programmes and arranging scholarship programmes, InWEnt also provides young people from Germany with the opportunity to gain professional experience abroad.
Our Offices
InWEnt gGmbH is headquartered in Bonn. In addition, InWEnt maintains fourteen Regional Centres throughout the German Länder, providing convenient points of contact for all regions. Our foreign operations in Beijing, Cairo, Hanoi, Kiev, Lima, Managua, Manila, Moscow, New Delhi, Pretoria, São Paulo, and Tanzania are usually affiliated with other organisations of German Development Cooperation.

International Leadership Training on
Corporate Human Resource Development
Announcement and call for applications
This information is intended for insti -tutions and individuals interested in the InWEnt International Leadership Training (ILT) on Corporate Human Resource Development due to start on 1 December 2008.
International Leadership Training (ILT):
General information
The International Leadership Training (ILT) programme of InWEnt - Internationale Weiterbildung und Entwicklung gGmbH -provides training for technical and manage-ment staff in companies and institutions from developing countries and countries undergoing transformation, so that they can then initiate and manage processes of change within their own countries.
ILT participants spend a year consolidat-ing their technical know-how, their manage-ment skills and their capacity to implemanage-ment change in Germany. In the run-up to this, they will already have undertaken a six-month technical and language preparatory course in their native counties, while contin-uing their professional work in parallel.
Most of the recipients of scholarships selected by InWEnt already have an aca-demic education and two years of profes-sional experience behind them. During the four-month practical training phase within a company, participants can consolidate their newly-gained knowledge and develop pro-fessional contacts.
In the course of their training, ILT participants use InWEnt's Global Campus 21® advanced Internet training platform. Once they have gained their ILT qualifica-tion, the successful participants remain in touch with each other through InWEnt's global network of former participants.
ILT ”Corporate Human Resource Development”
stitutions, businesses and training orga -nisations. Providing ILT participants with the chance to experience effective organi-zations and companies in this area in Ger-many allows them to see how HRD concepts are applied and gives them a real-istic idea of how HRD can be strengthened in their own institution. The practical expe-rience of working in German institutions and companies is one main focus of the programme. The overall objective is to enhance professionalism among HR devel-opers and training staff and strengthen company involvement in corporate edu -cation and training.
The International Leadership Training on Corporate Human Resource Development is funded by the German Ministry of Eco-nomic Co-operation and Development (BMZ) and directed at participants from Asia, especially from Indonesia. The num-ber of places on the programme is limited.

Learning and teaching methods
The course components, subjects and learn-ing objectives require effective learnlearn-ing and teaching methods:
Self-determined and interactive learning
Participants need to be aware of their own aims and the way they learn. Instead of being “passive students”, participants ac-tively contribute to support learning and in-teract with teachers/ trainers and fellow students in lectures, group-work and all other training activities.
Individual project
The project is tutored by experts but re-quires a responsible and self-reliant ap-proach, with the ability to integrate into existing project teams, time schedules and working processes.
International and intercultural character
The training course's international orienta-tion further supports intercultural learning and interaction. Working with colleagues from different regions, countries and cul-tures is a pre-requisite for understanding global thinking.
Applicant profile
- Applicants must have a university degree in engineering science, business man-agement, human resource development or a related subject (minimum require-ment: bachelor degree).
- A least two years of professional experi-ence in Technical and Vocational Educa-tion and Training (TVET) or Human Resource Development.

Language
German
All International Leadership Training Courses are conducted entirely in German. Because of that applicants need to acquire basic knowledge in German. The require-ment for being accepted and receive an Of-ficial Letter of invitation for travelling to Germany is passing the German language exam Start-Deutsch-1.
Learning a foreign language effectively de-pends on optimal individual and job-related requirements (e.g. personal availability). Therefore InWEnt offers different learning options, ranging from a highly intensive full-time face-to-face German language course (180 teaching hours) to e-learning/e-coaching courses with support by an online tutor, comprising 250 hours of German les-sons.
The decision about the respective learning option lies with InWEnt but is evaluated to-gether with the candidate after the approval of the application.
