Perisai Kelopak Bunga berbentuk 4 (empat) sisi, menggambarkan/

melambangkan falsafah masyarakat Buton (Kota Baubau), yaitu “Sara Pataanguna” sebagai kristalisasi nilai – nilai kehidupan bermasyarakat yaitu :

- Poma-maasiaka (kasih-mengasihi) - Pomae-maeaaka

(segan-menyegani) - Poangka-angkataka

(hormat-menghormati) - Popia-piara

(saling melindungi-pelihara-memelihara)

Makna Warna Lambang

 Warna Dasar Kuning melambangkan kejayaan

Meaning of Symbol

Shield-shaped flower petals 4 (four) sides, describe / symbolizes the philosophy of community Buton (Baubau City), namely "Sara Pataanguna" as crystallization values of the life of society, namely:

- Poma – maasiaka (love one another); - Pomae – maeaaka

(reluctant respect);

- Poangka –

angkataka (espirit de corps );

- Popia – piara (protect each other)

 Basic color yellow symbolizes the triumph and the glory of the people of Baubau ever achieved in the past.

Buku Baubau Dalam Angka merupakan seri publikasi tahunan BPS yang menyajikan beragam jenis data yang bersumber dari BPS dan institusi lain. Beberapa tabel tertentu menyajikan data pada tingkat kabupaten/kota untuk melihat keterbandingan antar wilayah. Untuk memudahkan pemahaman dan pemanfaatan data, disertakan juga penjelasan teknis.

Publikasi ini dapat terwujud berkat kerja sama dan bantuan dari berbagai pihak. Kepada semua pihak yang telah memberikan kontribusi, kami sampaikan penghargaan dan terima kasih.

Baubau In figure is an annual publication presenting data from BPS-Statistic Baubau City and other agencies. Data in certain tables are presented at regency/city to compare social-economic conditions. Technical notes for each statistic arealsoincluded in this publication to provide a betterunderstanding in interpreting data for data user.

The release of the publication has been made possible due to the assistance and contribution of various government institution and private organizations.To all parties who have been involved the preparation of this publication, I would like to express my high appreciation and gratitude.

GEOGRAFI DAN IKLIM

Kota Baubau memperoleh status kota pada tanggal 17 Oktober 2001. Ciri utama daerah Kota Baubau yang mencakup letak geografis, batas wilayah, luas wilayah dan keadaan iklim, akan diuraikan pada bab ini.

1.1 Keadaan Geografis

Daerah Kota Baubau terletak di jazirah Sulawesi Tenggara bagian selatan Pulau Buton. Kota Baubau memanjang dari Utara ke Selatan berada diantara

Baubau town gained city status on October 17, 2001. Characteristic of Baubau main areas that include geographic location, boundaries, area and climatic conditions, will be described in this chapter.

1.1 Geographycal Condition

Baubau city located in the southern part of the peninsula of Southeast Sulawesi Buton Island. Baubau citys tretching from north to south is between 50 ’ - 50 ’ south latitude and extends from west to east between 1220 ’ – 12204 ’ east longitude.

Pada awal berdirinya wilayah Kota Baubau terdiri dari 4 (empat) kecamatan, kemudian pada tahun 2006 mekar menjadi 6 (enam) kecamatan, setelah itu di akhir tahun 2008 menjadi 7 (tujuh) kecamatan dan di tahun 2012 sampai 2014 menjadi 8 (delapan) kecamatan.

Luas wilayah Kota Baubau adalah 221,00 km2 . Luas wilayah tersebut terbagi kedalam 8 kecamatan, yaitu Kecamatan Betoambari 27,89 km2, Kecamatan Murhum 4,90 km2, Kecamatan Batupoaro 1,55 km², Kecamatan Wolio

At the beginning of Baubau City uregion consists of 4 (four) districts, then in 2006 bloomed into six (6) sub districts, after that at the end of 2008 to 7 (seven) sub districts and in the years 2012 to 2014 to 8 (eight) sub districts.

Kondisi topografi daerah Kota Baubau pada umumnya memiliki permukaan yang bergunung, bergelombang dan berbukit-bukit. Di antara gunung dan bukit– bukit terbentang dataran yang merupakan daerah potensial untuk mengembangkan sektor pertanian.

Kota Baubau memiliki sebuah sungai yang besar yaitu sungai Baubau. Sungai tersebut melewati Kecamatan Wolio, Kecamatan Murhum dan Kecamatan Batupoaro. Sungai tersebut pada umumnya memiliki potensi yang dapat dijadikan sebagai sumber tenaga listrik, pertanian, perikanan,

1.2 Keadaan Iklim

Keadaan iklim di daerah Kota Baubau umumnya sama dengan daerah lain disekitarnya yang mempunyai dua musim yaitu musim hujan dan musim kemarau.

Musim hujan terbanyak terjadi pada bulan Mei dan Desember, pada bulan – bulan tersebut angin barat yang bertiup dari Asia dan Samudera Pasifik mengandung banyak uap air, musim kemarau terjadi mulai bulan Juni sampai bulan November, pada bulan – bulan ini angin timur yang bertiup dari Australia kurang mengandung uap air.

Climate in the Baubau city generally similar to other areas around it that has two seasons: the rainy season and dry season.

Occurred in the rainy season in May and December, in the westerly winds blowing from Asia and the Pacific Ocean contains more water vapor, the dry season occurs from June to November, in the east wind blowing from Australia contains less water vapor .

Suhu udara di Kota Baubau pada tahun 2014 berkisar antara 19,80C sampai dengan 37,40C. Rata-rata kecepatan angin tertinggi terjadi pada bulan Januari yaitu sebesar 4,1 knot sedangkan rata-rata kecepatan angin terendah terjadi pada bulan Mei yakni sebesar 2,0 knot.

Sementara itu, rata-rata tekanan udara selama tahun 2014 tercatat antara 1.011,832 mb – 1.015,627 mb. Tekanan terendah terjadi pada bulan Januari serta tertinggi pada bulan September
