Title : Marc Marquez | Interviews | Motorcyclenews.com

Duration : 12:21

Date of Publication : March 29, 2013

R : Marc, do except to a million around more reason, he said that (missing text. 00:00:05) all the way back to when he first met you as a 12 year. It’s very first time he saw you old, he thought you had the potential to be a world champion. When did you understand the (missing text, 00:00:16) he did have the potential to go all the way to the top this world?

M : Maybe when, you know when, when you are younger, you take that, that job like a hobby. You know, it's not to like you focus that i want to be world champion but first goal was try to arrive in the, in the world championship and 15 years old,we, i arrive there. And then when I was 15 maybe it's where, where i really, so that okay now next goal is try to stay with the front guy and try to, to, to win the World Championship. And, you know you never know your potential but i saw that with (missing text, 00:01:03) with work and step by step, you can be there but you need to be patient and try to, to understand all the things and try to learn about the faster rider.

R : He also said that as 12 year old, you behave so much like a 25 year old is (missing text, 00:01:20) was an incredible moment. How you find that come in a quite another world, another environment as a very young (missing text, 00:01:27). How she (missing text, 00:01:28) intimidating?

(2)

know, maybe you, you learn about them and then this maybe changes, changes your mentality a little bit.

R: Before you’re 20, you’re two time world champion and come to MotoGP with a better record than Pedrosa, Lorenzo, and Valentino. I mean how that success changes you too? Have you found an easy key to, to keep your feet on the ground and stay purposely where you were 12 and you are younger?

M : Yeah, you know, when, when you come here in the championship and when you win the world championship, you know the people recognize you and then you have more fan also the friends but in the end you are the same. At that moment, I didn't change nothing. I live in the same house .I did completely same live than before and I say to Milio.. to my father that if I change a little bit please hit me a little bit, hit me in the head or something for,for try to,to,to understand which situation because here okay, in the circuit is your job but in the end your personality is the same.

R : At the MotoGP (missing text) you coming from Moto2 (missing text) when does that for any extra pressure on you worried about that ?

M : Pressure, sure it’s some pressure but for me job pleasure you know. To be, to be in the best team of MotoGP for his...history. And then you know will be will be nice and it’s so nice to be here and it's like a dreams come true, because you saw always, when i was a boy, Crivia, Doohan then Hayden, Pedrosa and many riders here in the Repsol Honda team and all that riders were the best in that moment and now to be in this team for me it's a dream comes true and I want to try to do my best and try to enjoys this opportunity.

R : You was a big fan of Valentino Rossi but now you're in MotoGP seems he also a big fan of yours well, i mean going back to many years, can remember what’s your first memories of Valentino when you watching him as boy?

M : Maybe the first memory with Valentino. Okay, i saw many videos of him 125, 250 but maybe the first memory is, it’s when he was here, in the Repsol Honda team too with (missing text, 00:04:58) then he was pass to Yamaha. This is the first memory what i have about him but now, i saw all his races because i like it and you know was like a young guy that you always want more, more, more and still he have this mentality. You can saw in the test. He did many labs and he work so hard for, for try to, to be in the, in the best position and in the best moments.

(3)

text) for you inside. Do you think that that is possible that you can actually work earlier with (missing text) for the championship?

M : Impossible is nothing but it's, i think it's so very very very difficult quit (missing text, 00:05:55) impossible because Lorenzo and Dani, they have a lot of experience and one thing it's..one test that you did 50, 60 laps in a day and (missing text, 00:06:09) the thing it's one weekend at, make an hour one hour one hour qualified and prac and race. And then that is much more difficult but when Rossi say that you know it's a big you, i have a big respect about that but in the end i think we need to saw the reality, is my first season and i would arrive in the circuits and will be the first time with MotoGP and I didn't had that the setup and i didn’t had the lines and, and I think we need to be patient and try to, to concentrate in our work, race per race. So if some (missing text, 00:06:45) is coming we, we will not we will not close gas just, i will open more but we step by step everything will be arrive.

Q : We have asking your relationship with Dani Pedrosa, your teammate with, in compare you in the sport. The first you want to beat your teammate. I mean if you start to beat Dani, do you think that your relationship will change i mean obviously before the in pass with Rossi and Lorenzo two rider, very strong rider fighting together in the same team, you can close difficult situation. Do you expect your relationship much change with what happen in the track with Dani?

M : I hope no because with Dani i have a good relationship, and i know that he is the first guy in the team and i'm, i’m the second and the rookie rider. So, he need to win the champion, or he need to fight with that championship with, with Jorge and Valentino. I'm just i try to, i would try to learn but i think i can learn many things about, about Dani because he have a lot of experince and then, in the end on the track, i would do, I would try to do, to do my best and in motorbikes and a lot of the sport formula one, two the first, the first opponent is the teammate, you know. But in the end i think in this case is little bit different, when you are a rookie rider and because you have one teammate with 7 years experience in MotoGP. I think i can i can learn i can learn a lot.

R : You seem to try on a really difficult situation like a in Australian 2010, in Motegi last year, Lorenzo last year or Philips Island in 201. What do you think a reason? Did you think that one of your case (missing text, 00:08:35) your mentalbility to block out the difficult situation in this (missing text, 00:08:39) of a job?

(4)

why in the, because when i finish for (missing text, 00:08:58) race at histor, i say ok this never never happen more and then again, was in a Philip Island, i say okay, this was lucky and then Japan, Valencia. But i don’t know, sure will be one day that i would have some difficult situation and i cannot beat that situation but always when i feel that i try to, to make like big motivation for try to, to, even try to, to do my best.

R : One thing i heard people talk a lot about you and MotoGP is your riding style, when the fans see photographs of you with incredible leading angle. I means that, that they love your riding style. I mean on the bike what you feel like when you see pictures of yourself like we could do such as an extreme, an extreme style?

M : Yes. When i saw the first picture, i say it not possible i will crash in that corner. But in Malaysia in the second test when i go out from the box when i go in, i try to to change a little bit that riding style and try to copy a little bit Jorge, Valentino and Dani but i can’t, just it’s my riding style and i need to be like that. May for physical condition, it's used test a little bit more, use your body but i think will be, in the end every rider have he riding style and this quite, quite good. I feel so good on the bike with that.

R : What do you feel when on your bike go extremly looks when you look, looks for all crazy. I mean it’s look like you are gonna, gonna crash?

M : Yeah, but in the end it was.. was (missing text, 00:10:49). Sure, in some corners, even i try to take a changes a little bit because the (missing text, 00:10:55) or something to high And then i cannot, i cannot put my elbow inside or something, and for me it's a little bit more more difficult. But i try to changes but i can’t. When i try to changes is much more slower.

R : In Malaysia, (missing text, 00:11:11) was watching episode the track and he said that he has never seen anything like you on motorcycle. It’s your style. It’s truly incredible. He said that you was much like inventing a new, a new riding style. When you turning the bike back on the front wheel with the real tire almost near. I mean, is that something that you doing delivery or you just part of the process of your learning to ride a MotoGP bike?

(5)

to adopt more it’s even more that aggressive style. So we will see what happen in the future.

R: Congratulations for the victory in Texas, you (missing text,00:00:58) you know can you still believe it ?

M : When i arrived at home, i saw that victory in the MotoGP class is special. So now i believe it but my target was try to be in the podium but the victory always you know, it’s so difficult.

R : One of the people, that you're learning most from is Dani your, teammates. Me see that picture of the TV celebrating together in Texas?

M : Yeah, yeah. You know when your arriving MotoGP you have a big respect to,to, to every rider. I with Dani have a very good relationship. Everybody, want to, you know want to make something or try to ask to me or to Dani, how is the relationship. But it’s perfect but in the track sure he want to to beat me. I want to beat him but i know he's the first rider of, of the team and he need to win the world championship.

R : What was it like for you caring up as a rise son?

M : It start when i was 4 years old with my father in the motocross bike, just, you know they, they spend all his free weekends on me. And all his money he, he saves some money but then he spend on my bike or something. And you know, for them i think i arrive here and i like MotoGP, it’s a, a very good present for, for them. You need to have close support from them but also from your team, from the team, from your manager, from your peopl, your friends because i think for a rider it's important to have a very good estability in the circuit and also in home.

R : We see some situation in Moto2, when you’ve been in fall in crashes and people talking about you and you never seem to let that affect, how you ride on track. What's the key to your confidence?

(6)

R : Okay, we have one more photo for you. Which you may remember who is that? What is been like you in Qatar especially that incredible battle between you?

M : He (missing text, 00:03:24) )and he is my my hero of motorbike and he beat me but i think it’s completely it’s normal because he have a lot of experience, but you know it’s so great, you know. That now can be in the race track with Valentino and follow him in some laps.

R : You have got two of tittle and he got nine, Can you win another seven and much (missing text,00:03:48 ?

M : I think repeat what Valentino did it’s quite impossible. But you know first i would like to have first tittle in MotoGP into 3, 4 years, doesn’t matter. And then we will see but will be quite impossible.

R : Okay. Good luck on Sunday.

M : Thank you very much.

Duration : 4:52

Date of Publication : April 8, 2013

Q : How did you get started racing? My dream would be to race in the MotoGP...

M : With bikes., when i had four years old and until that you know, was for me, was like a hobby but then i start with motorcross bike and when i had eight years old i try the road racing. In the beginning i didn’t like but then step by step i improve and then i start to won some races. And from that was, was quite good and i was lucky too because one team count to me and for my for my father was, was much better because you know it’s quite expensive the this (missing text, 00:00:56) of a motorbike. And then step by step i start with Spanish Championship and when i, when i go to world championship there where i started to feel that maybe my dreams can come true. I was just someday arriving in MotoGP and in the end this year, i can get the dream.

Q : Do you like any kind of off-road bikes?

(7)

Q : Why do you think, you are able to get such extreme lean angles while other riders don’t?

M: Basically, i don’t know. I just, i try to ride the bike that i think that is the best, the best riding style but in the end sometime i try to, to be you know, Morris Moose or try to copy the style of Lorenzo or Dani but, but I can't. I just, i try to, to ride the bike but when i'm (missing text, 00:02:11) when i try to push. I start to, to go with my elbow with my (missing text, 00:02:17)) with my knee on the floor and, and then you know, maybe looks a little bit more (missing text, 00:02:24)) or maybe i take more risk. But in the end is the, for, for me the riding style what i can ride the bike

Q : Do you keep all your old leathers?

M : Yeah. I have. I have one leather of minimum one leather of every year, from eight years old. One of a year so i have quite many but, but then if i have some leather suit that i crash or damage, sometime i (missing text, 00:02:57) or take or sometime i give to some mechanic or some friend or you know what else. But, basically i try to keep one leather of every year.

Q : Do you think you are fast enough on the honda to make it to the podium in your first MotoGP race?

M : Will be, will be difficult quite, quite impossible because have to be rider, that is Pedrosa, Lorenzo and Valentino that they are so fast. And at the moment i just to give some concentrate for pre season. I will be concentrate here in Austin and then Jerez but, but you know i will try to do my best.but i think it’s not the goal i take a podium in (missing text, 00:03:41) race. The goal is try to go race per race and sure during this year i want to take some podium but not in (missing text, 00:03:49) race.

Q : What’s the fastest you’ve ever gone?

M : The fastest speed was in Malaysia, 343 and it’s quite impressive, especially when you, when you go in breaks point, and you need to stop that. That the speed it’s quite, you know in the beginning it ‘s just same.

Q : Do you have motorcycle licenses back home? If you do, what do you ride?

(8)

Q : Can ya’ll send me your autographs signed on and Alpinestars t-shirt? Please

M : Yes.. sure no problem.

R : Hey, who are you and what do you do?

M : So, I’m Marc Marquez. I'm a MotoGP rider and just, it’s my passion, you know, the motorbike.

R : You just done something very incredible, you’ve won (missing text, 00:00:33) history your win and how old are you?

M : I'm 20 years old and, and yeah i’m world champion of Moto2, world champion of 125 in 2010 and we will try to get the MotoGP. We will see, we have many years.

R : You know i thought, you look incredible fit, you looking incredibly fashionable as well. How, when you are, when, how far this sport related to fashion for you?

M : Yeah for me, you know in the end this sport is sport. But you know outside of the track, also you like to, to be fashion and to, to be good and, and you know, i’m one of the guy that i like to have my personality, my style and doesn’t matter but, but you know it’s more style like casual.

R : (missing text, 00:01:33) you favourite brands, (missing text, 00:01:34), what do you like to wear?

M : No. Normally i wear quite lot Superdry, GAS too because it’s the sponsor for the team so, no, but doesn’t matter. Litte bit also Alpinestar cloth it’s more like a circuit style. So, i like it.

R : It’s more camera around you, why are you so special today? It’s a lot of man around you but many (missing text, 00:02:05) camera try to distrub you? Why?

(9)

R : And (missing text, 00:02:33) the track for you, is it good, difficult? What do you-

M : Yeah, i, i never has been here, in Andora, yes but (missing text, 00:02:41) downhill, i never see any downhill bikes. And, and it's quite impressive and the riders say that this’s one, it’s one of the most tricky, tracks so looks looks very impressive.

R : You’re right. You obviously very successful and very young guy. What do you trying to achive to (missing text, 00:03:07)?

M : Normally, i try to be a normal guy and-

R : You are gorgeous.

M : You know, in the circuit i try to be professional, try to be concentrate but outside of the circuit in the end you know i am 20 years old. I'm a normal guy. I try to be with my friend, with my family, with the person that i have with good confidence and then making everything is much easier.

R : Definetely, i’ve been talking to (missing text, 00:03:39) the people around you (missing text, 00:03: 47) dedicate for your success.

M : Yeah. I think it’s the most important, you know. In the end this people that, they have you from the, from, from your start and, and then it’s so important. And to be at home and have like estability with the family, with the friend , have a good relationship also is important to disconnect many times so-

R: Do you wanna give messages with your own language? How you feeling right now. And-

M: in Spanish?

R : Yeah, of course. We have more Spanish (missing text, 00: 04:22).

M : (talking in Spanish)

Title : Alpinestars MotoGP Star Marc Marquez meets Legend Freddie Spencer

(10)

Date of Publication : June 11, 2013

R : This is the first time you are both actually meet?

M : Yeah.

F : Yes, yes it was just about an hour ago.

M : One hour ago. Yeah.

F : Like I said in twitter, response after Marc a qualified on the pole and broke that record on-

R : Saturday.

F : Yeah, Saturday at Austin then and then on the race on Sunday. I thought he is great. You know he is a graet young rider. He is got a lot of ability in and more than i really, i respect the way. You know it goes the body pushes and pushes and pushes it, we talk about that earlier. And it’s interesting because you know when you, when you set a record like i did that (missing text, 00:00:47) for all those years ago. For me i remember like it was yesterday. And when Marc someday hopefully might hold the record for as long as i did, 31 years, right? And so long time and then it's a privilege actually, in what we do to be able to compete at this level and have a chance to set a record like that in, so i had no idea what i set the record you know that they are won the GP. How long it lasts but I’m believing in that everything happens for a reason, right? and so for Marc to come along now and then to perform like it, yes, is great. It is great to see so I'm… I'm very happy. It is great for the sport.

M : About the history, about your respond, i always very interesting specially about motorbike, you know? But you know always when i have sometime i try to, to check some videos because it’s quite unbelieveable how they ride the bike times ago. But you know the history is there and i hope that continue for many, many years.

M : Yeah, specially with Freddie i think. You know, i saw many many videos but especially what the people is (missing text, 00:02:12) to me and everything, Freddie was one guy that was always, more less like me, always pushing and never was enough and, and this is quite, quite quite good i think for, for a rider. And then when you saw before he competes into category in one Sunday. So now this i can, i can not imagine.

(11)

most difficult thing, the really the most difficult thing at the time was how close should i, like i was told to Marc earlier like he did in the Italian Grand Prix Magelo just a close they were together. I am on the podium in 04 the 500 race and then the 250th are going out the paddock, so no time in between. But you know, i had a great team and there's no doubt that the fact i was able to win it.. i was, i was a part of what a great crew that i have, you know Geri Burgess obviously in Arcanum or Stewart Shand great-great crew. and great engineer and a Honda behind me. So that's that's what helped make it possible.

M : Yeah for me, that is the most the most impressive. It's unbelievable. Now it’s what i say i cannot imagine. I don't know racing Moto2 finish and then racing in MotoGP i think before was, was different but, but that means that that guys were so strong also about physical condition, because i don't know in Malaysia in, in some circuit like is like that hot. When I finished the race i am completely exhausted. I cannot, i cannot do another race and they did so this is, this is very impressive.

F : That’s pretty impressive, in fact i have a, my apartment store suits has the elbow pads on and your the only time i would ever use those would be as i'm going down, right? (laugh) So, he is cool guy. I like to watching and, and then. You know, i always be the big (missing text, 00:04:23) It’s interesting because you know moving on the bike it started way, obviously before my era and been able to, you like your body to help the bike move around in the reason why i started doing it, and the (missing text, 00:04:40) cause the size. You know i’m small and ride the bigger bike, it’s stuft and you move on the bike which help move the bike around, right? And, and then, so the (missing text, 00:04:49) can the progression of that in, in Marc’s case, you know it is just get off the bike so far. And i can understand why we do it. Even tough i have it done and i believe i can understand because he gives you such a good feeling where you are as far as leaning on it in position in we’re all about (missing text,00:05:05) feel, right? Ride isn’t all about when we sense the feeling of the bike and been out the predict and caught get the bike to move to whatever you want to go next and i can definetely tell him it helps with that in and i'm so, it's interesting to watch a progression cause i really didn't change for a long time, right?

(12)

M : Yeah, it’s so important, you know, for that reason also with take that risk because every, every years safety improvement. Now, two years ago already is coming that their bike on the leather suits and this is just not safety , you know. Sometimes when we are on the test or something you know, sometimes you, you forget to connect and you go out and then you saw the riders, oh now it’s off. And you you take a little bit more care because in the end if you had it back on the leather suit so they don't know their safety, that if you crash, okay, you crash but, but then when you arrive on the gravel and, and, and you start to, to hit your body on the gravel then you have that back on and it's much, much better. Thank you.

Maybe it’s that you need to enjoy, you need to ride the bike because you enjoy and you like it. And it’s a great moment and great fun for, for you if you, if you don’t enjoy then, no means to, to, to ride with motor with the motorcycle.

Q : (Question in Spanish)

M : (Talking in Spanish)

Q : (Question in Spanish)

(16)

Q : What is the latest song that you like to hear?

M : Last song ( a song name) no, no, it’s joke. Maybe “Sings” from Ed Sheeren. I like it. Let me check...you know this one. I like it.. i like it.

Q : Wich other rider from this or any era would you like to race against on the same bike?

M : Depends, maybe, maybe i would like to ride with some legend of motorbike like, mes, i mean rider like Doohan, Criville, Agostini, Kenny Roberts, Freddie Spencer and many many riders, that i would like to, to run with them some, someday but, but you know, it’s impossible of course but will be nice.

Title : After The Flag : MotoGPTM World Champion Episode

Duration : 16:5

Date of Publication : October 28, 2014

R : We have all intention in Japan and all the drama in Australia with (missing text. 00:02:41) down the world champion himself , Marc Marquez. And we start quite today in here before the Malaysian Grand Prix to talk about his incredible second year in MotoGP. Marc thanks you very much for joining us today.

M : Yes. Hai

R : Hai

R : Right. What I want to know first of all, looking back at Japan when you crossed the finish line what was going on under your helmet was it realive wasn't a motion? Did you did you cry with happiness?

M : I was, it’s difficult to say always there, when you feel exactly but., but on that time for example in Valencia last year, i already start to think about it because the race was more quiet. But here until last lap, i was pushing 100% because Valentino was really close and also Dani was coming. And then i was pushing and yeah, when i pass the line first reaction is more like nothing, nothing and i didn't break, you know. And time really goes straight to the gravel but then yeah then everything comes down. And you know the feeling is difficult, is difficult to (missing text, 00:03:45) but you feel you, feel like in a dream, you really happy like that you are achieve your, your dream.

(17)

look too easy on show, that it wasn’t and what did you feel more pressure this year because you was defending your title always a bit easier because you already have this world title. your first one?

M : No, of course this year was more difficult to manage that pressure. And because la..last, last year everything was, was okay. If i crash... was okay. This is his first year, he must to learn. If i did some mistake, it was a first year. I did and i need to learn. But this year was like, you must to do. And then the target was already in the preseason, the target was the title a championship and , yeah the pressure was difficult to manage but the people can think yeah easy because he wins 10 races in the row but was not like that

R : I think this 10 races in a row. He got you a lot of attention not just from the media but from the fans. We now see you in the podium of MotoGP superstar. How, is it sometimes difficult for i mean i'm sure i'm sure you love this this life, but is it sometimes difficult that every moment on a photo, every moment was on autograph?

M : Yeah.. i didn’t.. i didn’t imagine that. You couldn’t imagine when you are on 125 of Moto2 but yeah MotoGP are another world, is another step and when you do well there, the people.. okay inside the circuit it’s okay because you know that it’s coming there, MotoGP fan and you already expect that the people will stop, will ,will take a picture with you and it's okay but the most difficult thing is on the normal life. But now is the time that in the critical moment you know, you, you, you cannot go in every place you, you need to be careful with everything. But in the end i like it because you feel of the support of the of the people and if they ask a picture with you, autograph of you, that is a good, a good sign because that means that you are doing well and they are fans of you and they are interesting about you

R : Talking about this support network, you know with your team, a very tight team you have your father here, your obviously have your brother here riding. How important is it to have those people here, so you can really be yourself once the doors close?

M : Yeah, It’s important, may be the most important and for me in the circuit the most important is the team, because you spend a lot of time with them and you.. you must to have, i'd like to have a good relationship with all of them, tight relationship and yeah it’s important then he's my brother too that, that he is a good rider more less

(18)

M : That.. that.. (missing text, 00:06:40) He’s my brother too here but that you know i try to help him, he try to help me and in something, and yeah it’s important too because for dinner with dinner together or after dinner with me then we speak about the day and then it's my fa,, my family and that they like to come in the races because they enjoyso for me it's okay.

R : And obviously having this.. having this support network with your family. I am sure to helps in difficult times maybe lets think Misano on your first crashes in Oregon. As well in those races did you ever think there's a tiny little chance you won't win the title if you do more mistakes at the other races?

M : Of course you never know about the racing especially in the motor bikes because you can't injure. Everything can happen but okay in Misano, i.. i take more risk than usual and because i know that bun that was a big and then just i was pushing and doesn’t care about.. about the race. But then the other one I didn’t expact that, that mistake but was that special race, special situation and there i did a mistake. But now i after, after more less after Silverstone i say okay now more less i start to to see the title, but i know that until the end until that it's not in the pocket that you cannot, you cannot finished to push and to stay concentrate.

R : Talking about the fight with Jorge with Valentino with Dani, now you might not tell us but which one is the most difficult one and maybe the most fun one to fight one on the track?

M : Okay, the, the most fun one is Valentino. He’s the one i enjoyed more because Valentino you know he, you overtake him, he overtake you, always we try like to play a little bit, like (missing text, 00:08:46) overtake many times. And then the strongest one is depend of the race, depend of the setup of the bike, depends of the circuit. Sometime Lorenzo of course is really strong, for example in Brno Dani was the strongest one and Valentino, he have a lot of experience and he know in every circuit, all the places that where he can overtake.

R : You must be copying him. I’m, i'm sure you've watched every video with Valentino when he passes?

M : Yeah of course. When he beat me on the way he overtake me on the other one or races from past always you try to understand why and how is the situation and what he did and then you try to copy.

(19)

M : Will be a dream.. will be a dream.

R : Yeah? So you want your brother in the same team fighting with your brother?

M : I would like face to face.

R : Yeah? Your different high?

M : Yeah, yeah, yeah, it’s okay. We have the same bike, the same team. Everything. No excuse, yeah. Now..but, it’s a joke. Yeah will be nice now, at the moment he is in Moto3. He have the first chance to win the title but the most important thing to him is like stay calm and stay to concentrate. Because what he's doing is really difficult because okay, he have the pressure to lead the championship but he also have other pressure from the people that your brother already won, so you must to won. You're the brother of Marc and manage all the pressure is really difficult. So it's important with him to concentrate on you with him with his team, with his bike and try to do what he, what he can. And then we will see but maybe someday why not you know if he continue that, tha, that way the carrier why not to.. to be on the same team in the future.

R : Okay, Marc final question now, your future. you've got full well titles, two in the premier-class we know that you've looked top to Valentino as well. So I am, do you do you have a goal that you say i want more titles than Valentino or do you just go to keep having fun?

M : No. Just a.. you cannot fix at target or a number. You must to enjoy every year and every year is different. It’s different situation, different races, different weather and you.. you.. you must do to find the best the best way but we will try to.. to win again next year and win a again on 2016 and try to continue like, like that. But it’s difficult to say where i will arrive but of course what i did until now I'm more already really happy so, i'm only 21 just keep pushing and try to keep this level.

R : Fantastic Marc. Well thank you very much and all the best on final two races

M : Thank you very much.

Title : Marc Marquez Interview – Staying Motivated Despite MotoGP Dominanc

Duration : 4:15

(20)

Q : How hard is it to stay motivated when you’re so clear at the top of championship standing?

M : The most is to keep focus cause i'm only 21 and still you know i have all the motivation from my (missing text. 00:00:32) that arrive me to MotoGP and want to be the best. But will be important for the future to keep the motivation and for that reason it was one of the main maybe the main reason that i bring all my team to MotoGP, because then the relationship in the box everything is really nice and they are motivated too.

Q : Have you set yourself goals for the future?

M : Difficult to say but of course, every year, you try to., the target is try to win the championshiop or try to be competitive. And i know, maybe i hope that every year i will be one of the strongest guys on MotoGP, and I would work for.. for that. I will try to, to be there all the time fighting for the title.

Q : What tracks would you particularly like to win that you haven’t yet won in MotoGP? Silverstone this weekend?

M : Especially Motegi, here.. okay, already last year i felt., i felt good so i think will, i will try to be competitive from, from the beginning ut specially Motegi and why not Philips Island. But.. this one i have a good confidence and always since this year it was a good circuit for me.

Q : What do you think of Cal Crutchlow’s move to Honda next season?

M : I think it’s.. it’s a good (missing text, 00:02:19) for him. He will, he will have, i don't know if it the same or very close bike to, to my bike because normally incheckinal outsteam, the bike, the brother’s bike is complete same like my. So would be, would be good for him you know, he is struggling with Ducati but i think for he running style, we don’t (missing text, 00:02:46) but he can do a great job.

Q : How competitive are you and your brother? Do you compete against each other outside of motorcycle racing?

(21)

Q : Does your brother come to you for advice or does he like to do things his own way?

M : I try to help him a lot especially this year because it’s important year for..for him and always i.. we train together. We make everything together and you know, the relationship is really good with him like you see. And, and i will try or i would like to keep it many years even if someday we compete in the same category but i think the relationship would be the same

M : Yeah.. of course i’m really happy with this victory. You know, was with did a different kind of race that until now. I never lead the race from the first lap to the end. And this time was a little bit stranges. And you know.. was difficult to keep the concentration but in the end i lose a little bit the last lap the concentration and you know the race too quite so for my mechanic for my family that i saw in the last corner . But anyway we are so happy for that 25 points but.. but i know the next races will be little bit different because this one is one of my favourite track. So for that reason the victory was little bit easier than Aragon.

Then i choose to stay behind Valentino and try to (missing text, 00:00:29) the tire try to (missing text, 00:00:32) the tire. And when i check the frontire was okay, i try to push but in the real was struggling a lot. M ; yeah, i enjoyed quite a lot especially after the first lap because on the first lap maybe i, i was too, too calm and you know i know that my ring was so good and maybe i had too much confidence. And then when Lorenzo overtake me , i go a little bit wide and i go outside the track and many riders pass me but after that start i grade overtake, i enjoyed a lot. Then i saw Valentino start to open more gap but then i was pushing my hundred percent and when i catch him i was expect a little bit more battle but he did once mistake and he go wide and after that i saw that was the time to, to push and to try to open the gap and yeah.. really, really happy for fifth victory in the row and now we must enjoy the moment because looks easy but it so difficult.

But anyway, i choose the hard real tire and i was a little bit worry for the beginning of the race but i saw that was okay and then in the end i try to, to push the battle with Valentino was so great. I enjoyed a lot at last lap i push my hundred percent in one lap before we will overtake him for two, three times and you know since last year that i did have a battle in the last lap with Valentino, and last year he won. This year we did it and i hope to have some more battle in the future.

M : Yeah, of course i looks like a more less like Assen but, before of the race. But in the end everybody come in the pit to changes the bike for, for start from the pit because we saw that so completely dry. And on the grid i saw that the main (missing text, 00:00:27) was so dry but i was worry about the bike because there was compelety wet when i go out. And in the end my strategy was just copy Dani and Valentino that are they the main opponent for, for the championship and i saw that they stay on rentires and i stay like them, i saw that they go back in the box and i follow them and, and was just that. Then the race was nice in the beginning because we start overtake riders and then in the, in the second part of the race we had the grade but with Dani just always 0,5, 0,6 second between us. But yeah really happy for this victory and now it’s time to, to relax the body and, and relax also the mentality in the holiday time.

R : What do you mean?

M : (laugh) What i mean is that. Maybe Valentino struggle a little bit more but in the end was really really hard in the beginning. I was carry with the, with the tire life because i know then the key point. But yeah i start not so good at first corner but then after that i start to overtake riders i think i was eight or nine. And yeah really, really happy for this victory to come back here again and definetely we can say that i equal Mike Doohan records, so now remind one race will be difficult but we will try to..to do more victory.
