A. Kompetensi Inti (KI)

KI 1 : Menghayati dan mengamalkan ajaran agama yang dianutnya

KI 2 : Menghayati dan mengamalkan perilaku jujur, disiplin, tanggungjawab, peduli (gotong royong, kerjasama, toleran, damai), santun, responsif dan pro-aktif dan menunjukkan sikap sebagai bagian dari solusi atas berbagai permasalahan dalam berinteraksi secara efektif dengan lingkungan sosial dan alam serta dalam menempatkan diri sebagai cerminan bangsa dalam pergaulan dunia

Choose the correct relative pronouns

1. The restaurant which/where we ate were very expensive.

2. I asked him to post the letter which/whose I had written to my cousin. 3. Yesterday I met Jenny who/whose sister was in my class in college. Passive Voice Review

Change the active sentence bellow into passive.

1. Someone injures the man. 2. Someone is injuring the man. 3. Someone has injured the man. 4. Someone injured the man. 5. Someone was injuring the man. 6. Someone had injured the man. How to reduce relative clause?

When relative clauses are passive, we can leave out the relative pronoun and the verb be.

1. Relative Clause: Lang Lang, who was regarded as the most exciting pianist of our times, works, like others UNICEF Goodwill Ambassadors, to bring awareness to the needs of children throughout the world.

1. Understanding

Question Tags are short questions at the end of statements.

2. Function

 confirm that something is true or not, or

 to encourage a reply from the person we are speaking to.

3. Rules Main Rule

a. We can use will for the the question tag, if the main sentence is a prohibition.

Example:

 Don’t be noise, will you?

 Don’t make me angry, will you?

A positive statement is followed by a negative question tag.

Jack is from Japan, isn't he?

Rose can speak Javanese, can't she?

A negative statement is followed by a positive question tag.

They aren't funny, are they?

b. Using do/does/did, before a sentence which uses a verb. Contoh:

 Sally buys Amora Cakes in Jakarta, doesn’t she?  My father found the key on that desk, didn’t he?

c. We can use aren’t I for question tag, if the main sentence uses I am as the subject. We can also use am I for the question tag, if the main sentences uses I am not as the subject.

Example:

 I am not rude, am I?  I am diligent, aren’t I?

d. We can use modal as the question tag, if the main sentence also uses the modal.

Example:

 Shakira will be come back soon, won’t she?  Lucy can’t drive a car, can she?

e. We can use shall we as the question-tag, if the main sentence starts with let’s.

Example:

 Let’s forget it, shall we?

 Let’s draw the good picture here, shall we?

1. Famous for

(Adj) Known about by many people.

Example: The country is famous for its natural beauty. 2. Household name

(Noun) A person or thing that is well known by the public.

Example: He’d never become a household name, unlike his famous

younger brother.

3. Excitement

(Noun) feeling of great enthusiasm and eagerness. Example: Her cheeks were flushed with excitement.

4. Sentation

(Noun) A physical feeling or perception resulting from something that happens to or comes into contact with the body

Example: A burning sensation in the middle of the chest. GRAMMAR PRACTICE

1. Complete the sentences with question tags. a. She looks really sad, ………? b. Your dad’s a builder,………..? c. They wouldn’t agree to help,………? d. I’ve already apologized,………?

2. What would you say in these situations? Write a statement with a question tag.

GLOSSARY

Relative Clause is a dependent clause that modifies a noun. It describes, identifies, or gives further information about a noun. (A relative clause is also called an adjective clause.)

Passive Voice emphasizes an action. Who or what is performing the action is not important, unknown, or assumed to be general knowledge.
