Definisi Procedure Text sendiri adalah salah satu jenis teks bahasa Inggris atau (genre kalimat) yang menunjukan dan menjelaskan sebuah proses dalam membuat atau mengoprasikan sesuatu yang berfungsi untuk menggambarkan bagaimana sesuatu dikerjakan melalui langkah-langkah yang sistematis alias teratur. PENGERTIAN PROCEDURE TEXT

Ada tiga definisi "umum" mengenai procedure text : (1)Texts

that explain how something works or how to use instruction /

operation manuals e.g. how to use the video, the computer,

the tape recorder, the photocopier, the fax. (2) Texts that

instruct how to do a particular activity e.g. recipes, rules for

games, science experiments, road safety rules. (3) Texts that

deal with human behaviour eg how to live happily, how to

succeed.

Dari keterangan di atas, dapat kita garis bawahi bahwa

procedure text adalah (1) Teks yang menjelaskan bagaimana

sesuatu bekerja atau teks yang menjelaskan cara

menggunakan pedoman instruksi / penggunaan. contoh : cara

menggunakan video, komputer, mesin fotokopi, fax dll. (2)

Teks yang menunjukan cara melakukan aktifitas tertentu.

contoh : resep, aturan bermain game, eksperimen ilmiah,

aturan keamanan berkendara. (3) Teks yang berhubungan

dengan tingkah laku manusia. contoh : cara hidup bahagian,

cara sukses. dll..

The purpose procedural text is to tell the reader how to do or

make something. The information is presented in a logical

sequence of events which is broken up into small sequenced

steps. These texts are usually written in the present tense. The

most common example of a procedural text is a recipe.

Tujuan procedure text adalah memberitahu pembaca cara

melakukan / membuat sesuatu. Informasi disajikan dengan

urutan peristiwa yang logis. Peristiwa tersebut biasanya dibagi

menjadi beberapa langkah-langkah terpisah. Teks ini biasanya

ditulis menggunakan present tense. Contoh paling umum

procedure text adalah resep masakan.

Add the rice, soya sauce and omelet strips and cook for a further 5 minutes.Decorate with some of the leftover leek and serve hot. Enjoy.

4. How to Make Fried Rice

Ingredients: Bahan:

* 4 cups of cooked jasmine rice * 4 canting beras

* 4 sliced shallots * 4 iris bawang merah

* 2 eggs * 2 butir telur

* 50g defrosted peas * 50g kacang polong

* 75g cooked leg ham * Ham 75g

* 12 medium cooked prawns peeled and de-veined * 12 udang yg sudah dimasak dan dikupas

* 50mls peanut oil * Minyak kacang 50mls

* 50mls soy sauce * Saus kedelai 50mls

* Sliced shallots for garnish * Irisan bawang merah untuk hiasan

Method: Caranya:

1. Heat peanut oil in hot wok 1. Panaskan minyakdalam wajan panas

2. Add shallots and cook for a few seconds before adding the egg 2. Tambahkan bawang merah dan masak selama beberapa detik sebelum menambahkan telur

3. Once mixture resembles a light omelette, add peas, ham and prawns 3. Setelah campuran menyerupai omelet, tambah kacang polong, ham dan udang

4. Stir well until all ingredients are heated through 4. Aduk sampai semua bahan sampai matang

5. Add cooked rice and soy sauce to taste and mix until all ingredients are combined 5. Tambahkan nasi dan kecap secukupnya dan aduk sampai semua bahan digabungkan

6. Serve onto warm plates and garnish with sliced shallots 6. Sajikan hangat ke piring dan hiasi dengan irisan bawang merah

(1) Goal (Maksud atau tujuan)

(2) Material Needed (Materi / alat / bahan yang dibutuhkan) (3) Methods or Steps (Metode / langkah-langkah)

Lanjut, pengertian udah paham, struktur juga udah paham. Sekarang kita masuk ke Contoh Procedure Text, silahkan diperhatikan beberapa contoh procedure text yang ada dibawah ini.

Procedure Text : How to make pancake Ingredients:

 3 – 4 spoonful of flour  2 eggs

 1 ½ (250 ml) of milk  1 stick of butter

Materials:  1 mixing bowl  2 table spoons  2 cups  1 small pan Procedure:

1. Put the flour in the bowl. 2. Put milk in a cup.

3. Make sure it's 250 ml of milk. 4. Put the milk in the bowl. 5. Break the 2 eggs into the bowl. 6. Mix it with a spoon.

7. Heat up the pan and put the butter 8. Put the mix in the pan.

Material and Ingredients:

 hot water

 one spoon of coffee powder  a spoon

Procedure:

● Large sheet of strong paper (e.g. tissue) ● Soft pencil

● Scissors

● Paint and paintbrush ● Glue

● Strong string

Procedure :

The Frame

● Dampen the cane to make flexible

● Carefully, bend the cane to desired shape then tie securely with thread

The Covering

● Lay the frame on sheet of paper ● Trace around frame with pencil

● Cut covering approximately 1 cm larger than the outline ● Paint bird on covering (e.g. bowl)

● When paint is dry, place the frame on unpainted side.

● Now, fold edges of covering over the frame carefully, and glue them down.

● Cut 3 pieces of string, each 20 cm long.

● Secure one end of each string tightly to frame at the shoulders and tail of the bird. ● Then, tie the other ends in a knot.
