SECTION A: DIRECTED WRITING [35 marks]

You are a newly appointed Head Prefect in your school. You notice several unsatisfactory matters in the school which need to be improved. Write a report to your principal regarding the matters. Include the following points in your report.
Unsatisfactory matters: crowded canteen
broken tables and chairs toilets not in working order dirty school compound clogged drains
computers are not functioning well damaged school fence
long schools hours due to extra classes Suggestions:
provide more dustbins
set two different sessions for recess
carry out regular maintenance of school facilities extra classes held during weekends
When writing your report, you must use all the points given provide a suitable title address it to the principal set it in an appropriate format
For your report, you will receive up to 15 marks for the format and content points, and up to 20 marks for the quality of your writing.
Section B: Continuous Writing [50 marks]
[Time suggested: One hour]
Write a composition of about 350 words on one of the following topics.
1. Are school rules really necessary?
2. Describe the funniest event in your life so far. 3. My Ideal School.
4. Write a story beginning with,’ I couldn’t believe my eyes……’
