CATCHING UP IN THE FINAL QUARTER

Co pa eleased its audited financial results along with its operational statistics for full year 2012.
Fourth quarter turned out to be the strongest producing quarter in 2012 for Sampoerna Agro. Total Fresh F uit Bu ches FFB output fo the ua te totalled 5 thousa d to s, o % highe tha the previous quarter. The abundant harvests experienced in final quarter of 2012 was contributed by Sumatra estates that continued to produce 23% higher quarterly output. Total FFB production for the year 2012 reached 1.72 million tons, or 7% higher than 2011 output of 1.61 million tons.
Aside from the escalating production in the final quarter of 2012, the Company also managed to accelerate its new oil palm plantings by an additional 2,866 hectares within the last 3 months of the year from the 3,510 hectares booked in the first nine months of 2012. Total organic expansion for the oil palm business for the year reached 6,376 hectares, or approximately 6% of total oil palm planted area.
Price of C ude Pal Oil CPO in Malaysia Derivatives Exchange, from its peak at Rm3,568 per ton on 10 April 2012, generally continued its descend into the fourth quarter of 2012, reaching its bottom for the year at Rm2,027 per ton on 12 December 2012. Quarterly average came down by 23%, from Rm2,850 per ton booked in third quarter to Rm2,188 per ton in the fourth quarter. Yearly average calculated to be Rm2,866 per ton, or 12% lower than 2011.
Sampoerna Agro sold its CPO with an average price (net of export tax) of Rp6,432 per kg within the fourth quarter 2012, or 15% lower than the third quarter average. Hence, in 2012, the Company booked an average selling price of Rp7,271 per kg (net of export tax), or 4% lower than 2011 average. Majority, or about 85% of total CPO sales was sold within domestic markets.
Total revenue of the Company by end of 2012 reached Rp2.99 trillion, or 5% less than 2011 mainly due to lower selling prices of its main products, CPO a d Pal Ke el PK that declined 4% and 26% respectively. Palm products, consisting of CPO and PK, contributed 96% of total revenue.
By year end 2012, several acquisition deals were either completed or near completion paving the way to more landbank concessions amounting to approximately forty thousand hectares to grow oil palm and one hundred thousand hectares to grow rubber and other industrial plantation. All of the acquisitions were located in West Kalimantan.
