FUZZY C-MEANS

ABSTRACT

Appropriate curriculum applicable across Indonesia, 10th grade high school student who went up to class 11 will experience a selection of majors (majors). Majors are available at the high school fields of interest include the Natural Sciences, Social Sciences, and Language Sciences. Majors will be tailored to students' abilities in areas of interest that exist, the aim for later in life, lessons will be given to students to be more focused because it has been in accordance with capability in the field of interest. One consideration for selecting students are majoring in determining student achievement in semesters one and two (grade 10) in the form of a score value. Less accurate election process majors with manual systems at high schools or cause the need for a use of computational methods to classify students majoring in the election process. Fuzzy C-Means algorithm is an algorithm that is easy and often used in data clustering technique kerana efsien make an estimate and does not require many parameters. Several studies have concluded that the Fuzzy C-Means algorithm can be used to classify data based on certain attributes. This research will be used Fuzzy C-Means algorithm to cluster high school student data based on the value of core subjects for the majors. This study also examined the accuracy of Fuzzy Means algorithm in determining the majors in high school. Application of Fuzzy C-Means algorithm in determining the majors in high school students in 81 samples tested in this study show that the Fuzzy C-Means algorithm has a higher degree of accuracy (average 78.39%), compared with the method manually determining the direction has been done (only have an average accuracy level of 56.17%).
