PERAN TIME MANAGEMENT DAN SELF CONTROL TERHADAP
PROKRASTINASI AKADEMIK MAHASISWA

Abstract. The goal of this research is to find the role of time management and self-control towards the academic procrastination level in college students. The participants of this research (N=9) have the score of ‘average’ to ‘high’ in their procrastination level based on the pre-test. Sample collection was done using the purposive sampling technique. Data collection method was done by giving procrastination behaviour survey, before and after the therapy. Post-test results showed that the significance score < .05, referring to the gain score of the .048 significance score, meaning that there is a significant difference in procrastination score between the self-control group, time management group, and control group. Based on the collected data, it can be concluded that self-control and time management therapy can reduce procrastination, especially academic procrastination.

Abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat peran time management dan self control terhadap tingkat prokrastinasi akademik mahasiswa. Partisipan dalam penelitian ini (N=9) dengan perolehan pre-test kategori ”cukup” hingga ”tinggi” tingkat prokrastinasinya. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan purposive sampling. Metode pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui pemberian angket perilaku prokrastinasi sebelum dan sesudah terapi. Hasil dari pengujian post test dengan mengacu pada gain score berdasarkan nilai sig= 0,048, diperoleh nilai sig < 0,05 berarti ada perbedaan yang signifikan skor prokrastinasi pada kelompok self control, time management dan kelompok kontrol. Berdasarkan data yang diperoleh, maka disimpulkan bahwa terapi self control dan time management dapat menurunkan prokrastinasi khususnya berkaitan dengan bidang akademik.
