Antam memandang entitas ventura bersama sebagai metode yang efektif dan menguntungkan untuk mengembangkan wilayah pertambangan yang dimilikinya. Pada umumnya melalui skema kerja sama ini, Antam akan memiliki porsi kepemilikan awal tanpa penyetoran dana (free carried interest) serta memperoleh opsi untuk meningkatkan porsi kepemilikannya melalui pinjaman (loan carried interest) di awal kegiatan operasi. PT Nusa Halmahera Minerals (PT NHM) adalah entitas ventura bersama antara Newcrest Mining Limited (NML) dengan Antam yang kepemilikannya dimiliki oleh NML melalui Newcrest Singapore Holdings Pte Ltd sebesar 82,5% saham dan 17,5% saham PT NHM dimiliki oleh Antam. Pada usaha patungan ini, Antam tidak memiliki opsi untuk meningkatkan porsi kepemilikan saham di PT NHM. PT NHM telah beroperasi sejak tahun 2005 di Kabupaten Halmahera Utara, Provinsi Maluku Utara dengan menggunakan metode penambangan bawah tanah serta pemrosesan menggunakan larutan sianida untuk memisahkan kandungan emas dari bijih emas. Pada tanggal 31 Desember 2011, PT NHM memiliki total cadangan bijih emas terbukti dan terkira sebesar 5,1 juta dmt dengan kadar emas dan perak masing-masing sebesar 12 dan 16 gpt dan kandungan logam emas dan perak sebesar 2 juta dan 2,6 juta toz. Strategic alliance with international and domestic mining companies stands as key driver in accelerating the Company’s growth. For Antam, a joint venture scheme is viewed as effective and profitable cooperation in developing mining areas. In general, this scheme allows Antam to obtain initial ownership without capital (free carried interest) and to increase its ownership through loan (loan carried interest) at the beginning of operation. PT NUSA HALMAHeRA MINeRALS (ANTAM
owNeRSHIP: 17.5%)
PT Nusa Halmahera Minerals (PT NHM) is a joint venture entity between Newcrest mining Limited (NmL) and Antam with share composition of 82.5% and 17.5% respectively. In this joint venture, Antam does not have an option to upgrade its ownership in the company. PT Nusa Halmahera minerals has been operating its underground mine since 2005 in North Halmahera regency in North Maluku province, using cyanide solution in separating gold content and gold ore.
By 31 December 2011 PT NHM has a proven and probable gold reserves of 5.1 million dmt, comprising gold and silver’s grade amounting to 12 and 16 gpt respectively, while its gold metal and silver’s content of 2 million and 2.6 million toz respectively. The estimated gold resources of PT NHM on the date of reporting was 4.8 million dmt with

Selama tahun buku yang berakhir 30 Juni 2011, produksi logam emas PT NHM mencapai 463.000 toz logam emas dengan total biaya produksi tunai sebesar AU$145 juta dan mengkontribusikan pendapatan dividen dari laba tahun fiskal tersebut pada Antam sebesar Rp354,58 miliar. Target produksi logam emas PT NHM di 2012 berada di rentang antara 455.000 toz sampai dengan 465.000 toz. PT NHM telah menyelesaikan studi kelayakan pembukaan tambang bawah tanah Toguraci yang merupakan tambang bawah tanah kedua di wilayah Gosowong di bulan Agustus 2011 dan langsung memulai pembangunan tambang tersebut. Tambang Toguraci diestimasikan memiliki umur tambang selama lima tahun dan pembukaannya akan memakan biaya sebesar US$157,5 juta. Sampai dengan 2011, PT NHM telah membelanjakan AU$57 juta dari total biaya pengembangan tambang Toguraci yang akan mulai berproduksi di bulan Juni 2012.
Pt weda Bay NiCKel (KePemiliKaN aNtam: 10%)
Antam memiliki saham di usaha ventura bersama dengan Eramet S.A. (ESA) dan Mitsubishi Corporation (MC) untuk mendirikan tambang nikel dan kobalt serta pabrik pengolahan nikel berteknologi hidrometalurgi di Teluk Weda di wilayah yang terletak di antara Kabupaten Halmahera Tengah dan Kabupaten Halmahera Timur, Provinsi Maluku Utara. Proyek nikel ini akan dikelola oleh PT Weda Bay Nickel (PT WBN) yang struktur kepemilikan sahamnya terdiri dari 10% Antam dan 90% Strand Minerals (Indonesia) Pte. Ltd. (SMI). Saham SMI dimiliki oleh ESA sebanyak 66,6% dan MC sebanyak 33,4%. Antam memiliki opsi untuk meningkatkan porsi saham PT WBN miliknya menjadi 25%. Pada tanggal 14 Desember 2011, Pacific Metals Co. Ltd. bergabung dalam usaha ventura ini dengan membeli saham SMI sebanyak 3,4% seharga JP¥3 juta dari porsi saham milik MC.Proyek Weda Bay Nickel (PWBN) direncanakan akan memproduksi 65.000 ton nikel per tahunnya menggunakan teknik pemrosesan sulfuric acid atmospheric pressure leaching yang dikembangkan oleh ESA dari sumber daya

During the fiscal year ended June 30, 2011, the production of gold by PT NHM reached 463, 000 toz with total production cost of AUS$145 million. This company has paid out dividend to Antam amounting to Rp354.58 billion. PT NHM’s gold production target in 2012 is estimated between 455,000 to 465,000 toz toz.
In August 2011, PT NHm has completed a feasibility study on its new underground mine located in Toguraci and it was followed by immediate construction. Toguraci mine is the second underground mine in Gosowong, Halmahera. Toguraci mine is estimated to have a five year mine life and its exploration will cost US$157.5 million. By 2011, PT NHM has spent AUS$57 million out of the total cost of mine development in Toguraci, while initial production is expected to commence in June 2012.
PT wedA BAy NIckeL (ANTAM owNeRSHIP: 10%)
Antam has interest in this joint venture entity established with Eramet S.A (ESA) and Mitsubishi Corporation (MC) to exploit nickel and cobalt as well as to build a nickel processing plant through hydrometallurgical technology in Weda Bay, an area located between two regencies, Central and East Halmahera in North Maluku province. The project will be managed by PT Weda Bay Nickel (PT WBN) in which Antam holds 10% of ownership while the remaining 90% is held by Strand Minerals (Indonesia) Pte Ltd. (SMI). This company is 66.6% owned by Eramet SA and 33.4% by Mitsubishi Corporation. Antam has an option to increase its ownership up to 25%. Pada tanggal 11 Agustus 2010, Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA), salah satu organisasi di bawah World Bank, menerbitkan jaminan untuk PWBN kepada SMI senilai US$207 juta selama periode tiga tahun. Hingga akhir 2011, PWBN masih dalam tahap penyelesaian studi kelayakan yang diestimasikan akan memakan biaya sebesar US$230 juta. Keputusan untuk pembangunan Tahap I PWBN akan diputuskan setelah diselesaikannya studi kelayakan proyek tersebut di akhir 2012.

Proyek tambang bawah tanah bijih seng dan galena (senyawa timah hitam dan perak) Dairi (PD) yang dikembangkan oleh PT Dairi Prima Mineral (PT DPM) berlokasi di area Sopokomil, Kabupaten Dairi, Provinsi Sumatera Utara. PT Bumi Resources Minerals Tbk melalui Gain and Win Pte. Ltd. memiliki 80% saham PT DPM dan sisa kepemilikan saham PT DPM sebesar 20% dimiliki oleh Antam.
Setelah diselesaikannya studi penambangan proyek di bulan Februari 2011, total jumlah cadangan PD di akhir 2011 meningkat dari 5,4 juta ton dengan kadar seng, timah hitam, dan perak masing-masing sebesar 13,7%, 8,2%, dan 9,9 gpt menjadi 11 juta ton dengan kadar seng, timah hitam, dan perak masing-masing sebesar 11,5%, 6,8%, dan 7,5 gpt. Sedangkan estimasi total sumber daya PD meningkat sebesar 25% dari sebelumnya sebesar 20,1 juta ton dengan kandungan seng dan timah hitam masing-masing sebesar 13,7% dan 8,2% menjadi 25,12 juta ton dengan kandungan seng dan timah hitam masing-masing sebesar 10,1% dan 6%. PD diharapkan dapat memproduksi 162.000 ton seng dan 75.000 ton timah hitam selama delapan tahun dengan total biaya produksi tunai tahunan per ton sebesar US$95.
PT DPM berhasil memperoleh Persetujuan Prinsip penggunaan kawasan hutan untuk kegiatan penambangan bawah tanah bijih seng dan timah hitam dari Kementerian Kehutanan pada tanggal 15 November 2011 dan PD diharapkan dapat mulai berproduksi di semester kedua 2013.

On 11 August 2010, the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (mIGA), an organization under the World Bank, issued a three-year guarantee worth at US$207 million to Strand Minerals Indonesia for its project funding. Until end of 2011, the project was still in the stage of feasibility study finalization and the project cost is estimated to be US$230 million. The first stage construction will commence following the completion of feasibility study at the end of 2012.
PT dAIRI PRIMA MINeRALS (ANTAM
owNeRSHIP: 20%)
The underground mine of zinc ore and galena (black lead and silver compounds) developed by PT Dairi Prima Mineral is located in Sopokomil of Dairi Regency in North Sumatra Province. PT DPM is 80% owned by Bumi Resources Minerals Tbk through Gain and Win Pte. Ltd, while Antam holds the remaining 20%.
Following the completion of feasibility study in February 2011, by the end of the year, the zinc reserves increased from 5.4 million tons with content of zinc, black lead, and silver accounting for 13.7%, 8.2%, and 9.9 gpt to 11 million tons respectively with grading zinc, black lead, and silver at 11.5%, 6.8%, and 7.5 gpt respectively. The estimated total resources increased by 25% from 20.1 million tons with the content of zinc and black lead accounting for 13.7% and 8.2% to 25.12 million tons respectively with zinc and black lead content at 10.1% and 6% respectively. The Dairi Project is expected to produce 162,000 tons of zinc and 75,000 tons of black lead within the period of eight years with total annual cash production cost of US$95 per ton.
PT DPM has obtained principle approval on forest use for zinc ore and black lead underground mining from the Ministry of Forestry on 15 November 2011. The project is expected to start its production in the second half of 2013.
Pt GoRoNtalo miNeRalS (KePemiliKaN
aNtam: 20%)
Antam memiliki 20% kepemilikan proyek penambangan tembaga dan emas yang dikelola oleh PT Gorontalo Minerals (PT GM) di Kabupaten Bone Bolango, Provinsi Gorontalo. PT Bumi Resources Minerals Tbk, melalui International Minerals Company LLC, memiliki 80% saham PT GM.
Pada tahun 2010 PT GM memperoleh Ijin Pinjam Pakai Kawasan Hutan untuk kegiatan eksplorasi dari Departemen Kehutanan yang membolehkan PT GM untuk melakukan aktivitas eksplorasi di wilayah eksplorasinya dan menyelesaikan studi kelayakan proyek perusahaan tersebut. PT GM juga sedang dalam proses penyusunan estimasi cadangan dan sumber daya emas dan tembaga yang sesuai dengan standar JoRC yang ditargetkan selesai di akhir 2012. Saat ini PT GM masih dalam tahap penyelesaian studi kelayakan dan konstruksi proyek PT GM diestimasikan akan mulai di awal 2013. PT GM berharap akan memasuki masa uji coba di semester kedua 2014.
Pt SoRiKmaS miNiNG (KePemiliKaN aNtam: 25%)
PT Sorikmas Mining (PT SM) merupakan entitas ventura bersama yang mengelola proyek penambangan bijih emas di Kabupaten Mandailing Natal, Provinsi Sumatera Utara. Sihayo Gold Limited (SGL), sebuah perusahaan tambang publik Australia, memiliki 75% saham PT SM dan seluruh sisa saham PT SM sebesar 25% dimiliki oleh Antam. Selama 2011, PT SM masih berkonsentrasi pada penyelesaian studi kelayakan definitif proyeknya yang ditargetkan selesai di kuartal kedua 2012. Hasil terkini aktivitas eksplorasi SGL menunjukkan estimasi total sumber daya emas terindikasi dan tereka wilayah pertambangan PT SM mencapai 16,3 juta dmt dengan kadar emas rata-rata sebesar 2,7 gpt dan kandungan logam emas sebesar 1,4 juta toz. Pada studi kelayakannya, PT SM menargetkan volume produksi logam emas tahunan sampai dengan 90.000 toz selama periode tujuh tahun dengan biaya tunai per unit tahunan berkisar pada rentan harga antara US$650 sampai dengan $700. Estimasi biaya yang dibutuhkan untuk pembangunan pabrik pengolahan bijih emas PT SM adalah sebesar US$80,4 juta.PT GoRoNTALo MINeRALS (ANTAM owNeRSHIP:

Antam holds a 20% ownership in the copper and gold mining project that is managed by PT Gorontalo minerals (PT GM) in Bone Bolango Regency in Gorontalo province. The remaining 80% ownership is held by PT Bumi Resources Tbk Minerals, through International Minerals Company LLC. In 2010 PT GM obtained its Forest Use Permit for exploration activities from the Ministry of Forestry, allowing PT GM to engage in explorations and feasibility study of its project. Currently, PT Gm is in the process of preparing estimation of reserves and resources of gold and copper based on JORC standards. This process is to be completed by late 2012. Additionally, PT GM is also completing the feasibility studies and the project construction which is projected to be completed in early 2013, while the trial period will commence in the second half of 2014.
PT SoRIkMAS MINING (ANTAM owNeRSHIP: 25%)
PT Sorikmas Mining (PT SM) is a joint venture entity that engages in the operation of gold ore mining project located in Mandailing Natal Regency, North Sumatera Province. This joint venture is 75% owned by Sihayo Gold Limited (SGL), an Australian public mining company, and the remaining 25% is owned by Antam.Throughout 2011, PT Sm’s focus was concentrated on the completion of feasibility study to be completed by Q2 - 2012. The latest exploration result conducted by Sihayo Gold Limited revealed that the estimation of total indicated and inferred gold resources in gold mine of PT Sm reached 16.3 million dmt with average gold content of 2.7 gpt and gold metal content of 1.4 million toz. The Company aim to meet gold metal production of 90,000 toz within seven year period with annual cash cost between US$650 to $700 per toz. The estimated cost to build this gold ore processing plant is approximately US$80.4 million.
Rencana kerja PT SM di 2012 akan berfokus pada finalisasi dan penyampaian hasil-hasil studi kelayakan definitif proyek, penyelidikan pilihan pendanaan proyek dan menjalin hubungan baik dengan bank-bank kunci, persetujuan tingkat lanjut yang mencakup persetujuan Analisa Dampak Lingkungan (AMDAL), persetujuan Pemerintah Republik Indonesia, dan Izin Kehutanan. PT SM juga akan memastikan adanya hubungan yang baik dengan masyarakat lokal di sekitar wilayah pertambangan.
In its work plan for 2012, PT SM will focus on finalizing and delivering the results of the feasibility studies, assessing project funding options, maintaining good relation with key banks, further approval on the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), approval from the Government of the Republic Indonesia, and the Forestry Permit. The Company will also ensure a good relationship with local communities around the mining area.

Antam memiliki free carried interest sebesar 20% pada Proyek Intan Cempaka yang dioperasikan oleh entitas ventura bersama PT Galuh Cempaka (PT GC) untuk mengola cadangan intan aluvial di Cempaka dan Danau Seran, Kalimantan. Gem Diamonds memiliki 80% saham dalam perusahaan patungan ini. Tambang Cempaka menghasilkan intan putih berkualitas tinggi serta beragam intan berwarna yang dapat dijual pada berbagai tingkat harga intan rata-rata global.
