ABSTRAK
Usaha Mikro, Kecil dan Menengah yang saat ini sedang berkembang adalah industri makanan kerupuk. Terdapat bahaya yang dialami penggoreng kerupuk yaitu terkena minyak goreng panas, mengalami heat stress, dan terkadang menyebabkan sesak nafas akibat kurangnya oksigen yang masuk ke ruangan. Pencegahan dan pengurangan kecelakaan serta penyakit akibat kerja dapat dilakukan dengan peyuluhan mengenai risiko bahaya di tempat kerja. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan pengetahuan dan sikap sebelum dan sesudah diberikan penyuluhan tentang bahaya lingkungan kerja panas pada pekerja penggoreng kerupuk di Kecamatan Medan Selayang Tahun 2015.
Jenis penelitian penelitian ini eksperimen dengan jenis quasi eksperimen (eksperimen semu) dengan rancangan Non Equivalent Control Group. Dilakukan pada 30 pekerja yang bekerja di industri kecil kerupuk yang berada di Wilayah Kecamatan Medan Selayang. Menggunakan uji Wilcoxon.
Pemberian informasi dengan penyuluhan melalui ceramah dan leaflet ternyata mampu meningkatkan pengetahuan responden, dengan nilai rata-rata pengetahuan sebelum diberikan penyuluhan 10,17 menjadi 14,43 setelah diberikan penyuluhan dengan nilai p<0,001. Peningkatan sikap responden tentang bahaya kerja panas sebelum penyuluhan 42,03 menjadi 56,17 setelah dilakukan penyuluhan dengan nilai p<0,001.
Penelitian ini merekomendasikan kepada Puskesmas melalui unit UKK untuk melakukan penyuluhan dengan menggunakan metode ceramah dan leaflet tentang bahaya lingkungan kerja panas pada pekerja industri kecil penggorengan kerupuk.
ABSTRACT
Micro, Small, and Medium Businesses which are developing nowadays are food industry, especially kerupuk (a kind of chips). It seems that the person who fries it is facing serious problems such as being affected by hot cooking oil, undergoing heat stress, and sometimes undergoing short of breath because of the lack of oxygen which fills the room. Forestalling and curbing the incidence and illness because of this job can be done by providing counseling about the risk of the danger in the work place. The objective of the research was to find out the difference in knowledge and attitude before and after counseling about the danger of hot environment in the workers who fried kerupuk was provided in Medan Selayang Subdistrict, in 20015.
The research was a quasi experiment with non equivalent group design. The samples were 30 workers who worked at the kerupuk small industry in Medan Selayang Subdistrict as the respondents. The data were analyzed by using Wilcoxon test.
The result of the research showed that giving information by counseling, using lecture and leaflet method was able to improve respondents’ knowledge at the average value of knowledge before counseling was provided was 10.17 and after counseling was provided was 14.43 at p-value < 0.001. The improvement of respondents’ attitude before the counseling was 42.03 and after the counseling was 56.17 at p-value < 0.001.
It is recommended that that the management of Puskesmas, through UKK unit, should provide counseling about the danger of hot work environment in the workers of kerupuk frying industry by using lecture and leaflet method.
