Abstract
This study discussed the oral questions used by the English teacher in teaching English at SMPN 1 Salatiga. The study aimed atanswering the research question “What are the types of oral
questions used in teaching English?” One of English teachers at SMPN 1 Salatiga was selected to be the participant. The data were collected through observation. The result of this study
showed that referential question was the most frequently used type of the teacher‟s oral question
in teaching English at SMPN 1 Salatiga.
