This paper contains report on glass fabrication and characterization in composition 55TeO2-2Bi2O3-
(43-x)ZnO-xEr2O3 where (x=0.5; 1; 1.5; 2; 2.5; 3) with melt-quenching technique. Sample was heated in 9000
C in an hour. Casting was performed by pouring quickly hot melt into the mould 2650C then was cooled naturally. Glass characterization process conducted was UV/VIS test and n test (refractive index) and
test (density). The measurement of all physical and optical characteristics was conducted in room temperature after the similar heat treatment was treated. From the optical absorption measurements, eight absorption peaks were obtained at wavelength around 408, 451, 489, 521, 544, 653, 799, 980 nm. Each sequence corresponds to the following energy levels 4H
9/2, 4F5/2, 4F7/2, 4H11/2, 4S3/2, 4F9/2, 4I9/2 and 4I11/2.
