A study, entitled “Analysis Fenetik of Jambu Semarang [
(Blume) Merr. & LM Perry] Based on Characteristics of Leaf Anatomy”. The purpose of this study were to determine the characteristics of leaf anatomy and to determine the relationship of based on the similarity of leaf anatomical structure.
Samples were collected using a purposive random sampling. The method for slide preparation of leaf anatomical characters was a paraffin method, staining with safranin 1%. Observation parameters include the epidermis thickness (top and bottom), the thickness and size (length and width) of palisade, cuticle thickness, number and size (length and width) of stomata, the type and position of stomata cell. Data anatomical characteristics of leaf anatomy from
was analyzed descriptively, to determine the similarity relationship of used the UPGMA method with software MEGA 5.0.
The results obtained from this study in Purwokerto and the surrounding area show that there were eight cultivars namely ‘Buah Pink’, ‘Hijau Bulat’, ‘Unsoed’, ‘Merah Lebar’, ‘Kaget Merah’, ‘Camplong Putih’, ‘Irung Petruk’ dan ‘Lilin Merah’. Eighth cultivars of has a different leaf anatomical characters on the number and size consisting of the epidermis, cuticle, palisade, and has a stomata type of parasitic. Additionally eight cultivars of
have oil glands and some cultivars have oxalate crystals contained in the palisade tissue. The closest of fenetik relationship were between
‘Camplong Putih’ and ‘Irung Petruk’ with the dissimilaritas index of 23%. While the farthest similarities relationship were between
‘Unsoed’ and ‘Irung Petruk’ with the dissimilaritas index of 63%.
