The GYTS is a school-based survey intended to collect important information on tobacco use among students and other
related indicators that will help Member countries to monitor tobacco control efforts and improve tobacco control
programmes. Also, GYTS data can be used to evaluate the effectiveness of the provisions of the WHO Framework
Convention on Tobacco Control.

The factsheet is arranged in accordance with the Articles of the Framework Convention and linked with the
corresponding GYTS indicators.

All related indicators are grouped according to their domains. However, all countries do not have the same
numbers of indicators. So, some cells in the rows/columns with en dash (–) show the absence of certain
