ABSTRAK
Employee engagement merupakan keadaan positif yang muncul bersama
terkait dengan pekerjaan yang berhubungan dengan kesejahteraan yang ditandai dengan vigour, dedication, dan absorption. Salah satu faktor untuk mempengaruhi
employee engagement adalah kepribadian, hardiness. Hardiness terdiri dari
commitment, control,dan challenge dinilai sebagai salah satu bentuk kepribadian
yang baik saat menghadapi keadaan yang penuh tekanan atau sumber stres. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk melihat pengaruh hardiness terhadap employee
engagement pada PNS Kementerian Pekerjaan Umum BBPJN-I. Pengambilan
data dilakukan dengan menggunakan skala hardiness dan employee engagement. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada 218 PNS yang bekerja di Kementerian Pekerjaan Umum BBPJN-I. Analisa data menggunakan analisis regresi linear sederhana. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa ada pengaruh positif hardiness terhadap employee
engagement yang berarti semakin tinggi hardiness karyawan maka akan semakin
tinggi pula employee engagementnya. Implementasinya, penelitian ini dapat membantu organisas dalam memahami bagaimana meningkatkan employee
engagement melalui kepribadian hardiness.

ABSTRACT
Employee engagement is as a shared, positive and fulfilling, motivational emergent state of work-related well-being characterized by vigor, dedication, and absorption. One factor to improve employee engagement is personality, such hardiness. Hardiness is composed by commitment, control, and challenge which to be judged as one of good personality to confront stressful events.This study aims to examine the influence of hardiness towards employee engagement. This research was involved of 218 civil servants who work in a Ministry of Pekerjaan Umum. Data were collected by using employee engagement scales and hardiness scale. Data analyzed by using simple linear regression. These results indicate that there was a positive influence of hardiness toward employee engagement which is the high level of hardiness will be followed by the high level employee engagement.Implementation, this research can help organizations understand how to improve employee engagement through personality, such hardiness.
