Perbedaan Intercultural Sensitivity Siswa-Siswi SMA Heterogen
(Multicultural) dan SMA Homogen (Monocultural) Kota Medan

ABSTRAK
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan Intercultural Sensitivity pada siswa-siswi sekolah Homogen dan Heterogen di Kota Medan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif komparatif dengan menggunakan 200 siswa sekolah Heterogen dan 200 siswa sekolah Homogen di Kota Medan sebagai sampel penelitian. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan skala Intercultural Sensitivty yang disusun berdasarkan The Concept of Intercultural Sensitivity yang dikemukakan oleh Chen & Starosta. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan Intercultural Sensitivity pada siswa sekolah homogen dan sekolah heterogen. Dari penelitian ini juga ditemukan hasil tambahan bahwa pada komponen Intercultural Sensitivity skor mean yang paling tinggi terdapat pada Interaction Engangement dan skor mean terendah terdapat pada Interaction Attentiveness. Sehingga terlihat bahwa Intercultural Sensitivity pada Sekolah Heterogen lebih tinggi dari Sekolah Homogen.

Diffrences of Intercultural Sensitivity in High School Students Heterogeneous

ABSTRACT
This study aims to determine differences the Intercultural Sensitivity in Homogeneous and Heterogeneous school students in Medan. This study uses comparative quantitative methods using 200 Homogeneous high school students and 200 Heterogeneous high school students in Medan as the study sample. Data collected by using a Intercultural Sensitivity scale compiled by Chen and Starosta The Concept of Intercultural Sensitivity. The results showed that Intercultural Sensitivity in homogeneous school students and heterogeneous school were differences. This research also found additional result that the components of Intercultural Sensitivity highest mean score found in Interaction Engangement and the lowest mean score found on Interaction Attentiveness. So it looks that the Intercultural Sensitivity at Heterogeneous schools are higher then Homogeneous.
