DEVELOPING COMIC MEDIA FOR THE LEARNING OF PRIME SERVICES IN TEAMWORK MATERIALS FOR GRADE X STUDENTS

ABSTRACT
This study aims to: 1) develop comic media for the learning of prime services in teamwork materials for Grade X students of SMKN 1 Wonosari, and 2) investigate the appropriateness of comic media for the learning of prime services in teamwork materials for Grade X students of SMKN 1 Wonosari.
This was a research and development (R & D) study. It employed the development model by Borg & Gall, consisting of five steps, i.e.: 1) product needs analysis, 2) preliminary product development, 3) expert validation and revision, 4) small-group tryout involving 5 students selected by means of the purposive sampling, and 5) large-group tryout involving 30 students. The study was conducted in Grade X of Fashion Design at SMKN 1 Wonosari from July to September 2013. The instrument in the study was a questionnaire. The validity was tested by construct validity. The reliability was tested by the Cronbach Alpha reliability. The data were analyzed by means of the descriptive technique. The results of the study are as follows. 1) The product is comic media for the learning of teamwork materials. 2) The comic media for the learning of teamwork materials are very appropriate and the students’ responses to the comic media show that the media are very appropriate with a percentage of 54.34%. From the results, it can be concluded that the developed comic media are very appropriate to be used in the learning of teamwork materials at SMKN 1 Wonosari.
