ABSTRACT
Arisan is one of many informal financial institute that enough interested of Indonesian, especially to help solving problem household-economic that they are experienced. However there are only few research about arisan in Indonesia. Therefore purpose of this research is to be observe how far benefit of arisan role for society especially in Kauman Kidul village, and observe how far arisan can function as social collateral.
Arisan have a big benefit on economic scale for society because arisan can support arisan member to learn saving, loan without interest and can keep social activity with low cost. Other than Arisan we can found saving and loan activity like as bank thats called shadow banking, with this activity member can get extra income and get easy of saving and loan than that of commercial bank.
Be sides have benefit on economic scale, arisan also have benefit as socially that can looked from harmony between peoples in Kauman Kidul village. Other than Arisan also can used as tool to explore potential member, and can give a informal education. However not only is it, society can get a entertainment to disappearing stress of their activity.
