Haris Rahmat Maulana Saleh, NPM KXO 050641, Jurusan Ilmu Hubungan Masyarakat, Fakultas Ilmu Komunikasi Universitas Padjadjaran. Melakukan penelitian dengan judul “Penggunaan website SMAN 2 Purwakarta dalam memenuhi kebutuhan informasi siswa”. Tujuan yang ingin dicapai dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana penggunaan website SMAN 2 Purwakarta dalam memenuhi kebutuhan informasi siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori uses and gratifications
Metode penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan analisis deskriptif yaitu suatu bentuk penelitian yang ditujukan untuk mendeskripsikan fenomena-fenomena yang ada, baik fenomena alamiah maupun fenomena buatan manusia. Populasi dalam penelitian ini siswa/siswi SMAN 2 Purwakarta yang berjumlah 338 orang dengan teknik sampling random diperoleh 87 sampel.
Uji validitas berupa skor dengan tingkatan/ordinal menggunakan metode korelasi Spearman, yaitu koefisien korelasi yang memperlihatkan keeratan hubungan antara dua variabel 1 dan 2. Uji reliabilitas menggunakan perhitungan dengan rumus Alpha Cronbach. Nilai reliabilitas diantara 0,00 sampai 1,00. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah angket, observasi, wawancara dan studi kepustakaan. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis deskriptif yang dilakukan dengan cara menganalisis data berupa kuesioner dan menggunakan perhitungan statistik.
Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan website SMAN 2 Purwakarta mendapatkan tanggapan yang bagus dari responden begitu juga dengan kebutuhan informasi siswa yang terpenuhi dengan adanya website SMAN 2 Purwakarta ini.
Adapun kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah penggunaan website SMAN 2 Purwakarta yang terdiri dari intensitas penggunaan, macam isi pesan serta hubungan individu dengan isi media mendapatkan tanggapan yang baik dari responden. Begitu juga dengan pemenuhan kebutuhan informasi yang terdiri dari kepuasan informasi dan penambahan pengetahuan mendapatkan tanggapan yang baik dari responden.

Conducting research with the title “Use of SMA N 2 Purwakarta website with fulfillment of students needs for information”. This research under the guidance of Drs. H. Wawan Setiawan,M.Ikom. as the main guide, and Evi Novianti, S. Sos.,M.Si. as a companion guide. Goals of this research is to find how use of SMA N 2 Purwakarta website with fulfillment of students needs for information. This research use the theory of uses and gratifications
The method of this study is using the approach of quantitative with descriptive analysis which is the study that determines the description of existed phenomenons, wether it is natural phenomenon or man made phenomenon. The population in this study is the students of SMAN 2 Purwakarta with the total of 338 person with random sampling technique gained 87 sample.
Validity test is score with levels/ordinal uses Spearman correlation method, which is correlation coefficient that shows the connection between two variable 1 and 2. Reliability test uses calculation with Alpha Cronbach formula. Reliability value is between 0,00 to 1,00. Data round-up technique uses questionnaire, observation, interview and study literature. Data analysis technique uses descriptive analysis which is questionnaire and statistics calculation.
The results of this study shows that the uses of SMAN 2 Purwakarta website gained good responses from the respondents also with the students needs of information which fulfilled with the existance of this SMAN 2 Purwakarta website.
The conclusion of this study is the SMAN 2 Purwakarta uses that consist of the uses intensity, such as the message and the individul connections with the media gained good responses from the respondents. Also with the fulfillments of information and knowledge increase gained good responses from the respondents.
