Hasil observasi
Saat itu ibu guru sedang menjelaskan mengenai tata krama atau sopan santun adat Jawa. Subjek menatap penjelasan Ibu guru dan sesekali ia melihat arah temannya yang sedang berbincang-bincang. Ibu guru memperingatkan teman-teman subjek ketika kelas terlihat mulai ramai, dan subjek hanya menatap teman-temannya tanpa mengatakan sepatah kata apapun.
Subjek duduk di baris kedua dari belakang. Ia duduk bersebalahan dengan salah satu anak laki-laki. Selama proses observasi, tidak terlihat satu patah kata pun dari mulut subjek baik dengan teman sebelahnya, dengan guru maupun dengan teman-teman lainnya. Ketika kegiatan bernyanyi bersama, ia hanya diam membisu tanpa ikut bernyanyi bersama. Subjek juga tidak menggerakkan kedua tangannya mengikuti irama nyanyian ibu guru.
Ibu guru meminta para siswa bergiliran maju ke depan untuk menyanyikan lagu dengan teman sebelahnya. Teman-teman subjek maju berdua secara bergantian dan menyanyikan lagu kesukaan mereka masing-masing. Tiba giliran subjek untuk maju ke depan dengan teman sebangkunya. Ia mau maju ke depan bersama dengan teman sebelahnya, namun ketika ibu guru meminta untuk mulai bernnyi, subjek hanya menggerakkan mulutnya mengikuti lirik lagu tanpa mengeluarkan suara, sementara teman sebelahnya menyanyikan lagu dengan cukup lancar dan keras.
