basal third of tu})e is yery paleyel- lowish white; the outer two-thirds is abruptly})rown-l)lack; segments eightand nine pale yellow; three to seyen appear irregularly striped with pale yellowand dark ])rown; dorsal stripe pale yellowand about the width of the wings; a subdorsal

row

of dark-brown, semicircular spots, whichstand one in themiddle on each side of these segments withthe straight side toward the dorsal line, giyes the appearance of a subdorsal stripe; then followson each sidean irregular, pale yellow stripe, and the middle of the sides of the segments is shaded with brown. Spinesonsidesof a))dominalsegments and thebackof eighth and ninth areextremely short andl)lunt.
