The
eyes are very small and situated in the posterior angles of the lateral lobes. There is no notch in the middle of the anterior margin, the margin being very slightly producedin a widely roundedlobe.The
first pair of antennae consistof four joints and are .somewhat elongate.The
last joint is longand clavate.
The
second pair of antenna?consist of six jointsand
do not exceed in length the antenna^ofthefirstpair.
The
jointsofthe tiagellum are all consolidated into asingle piece,theterminal orflag- ellar joint.The
first four segments of the thorax are about equal in length.The
fifth, sixth, and seventh seg- mentsbecome
successively shorter,andthoracic third segments, the sides converging
beyond
that pointto thenarrow apex ofthe terminalabdominal segment.The

female of thisspecies bearsa great resemblance to the female of Crypt!one elongata Hansen.The
maleditiers, however, in having the segments of the
abdomen
all consolidated and forming a single piece, the male of Hansen's type species of the genus Cn/pttonehavingthe
abdomen
distinctly segmented, eachsegment
bearing a pair of rudimentary pleopoda, and the terminalsegment
