Studi batch dilakukan di mana berat adsorben yang diketahui ditambahkan ke 50 ml larutan MB dengan konsentrasi yang diketahui pada pH tertentu dan dikocok pada 200 rpm dalam pengocok orbital Stuart pada suhu kamar. PH yang diinginkan (dalam kisaran 2-14) dari larutan pewarna dicapai melalui penyesuaian dengan larutan 0,1 M HCl atau 0,1 M NaOH. Aliquot ditarik pada interval waktu yang telah ditentukan sebelumnya selama 2 jam. Konsentrasi MB dihitung dengan mengukur absorbansi pada 665 nm menggunakan spektrofotometer Shimadzu UV-1900. Jumlah MB yang teradsorpsi pada waktu t (qt) dihitung menurut persamaan berikut

Untuk studi kinetika adsorpsi, dosis adsorben bervariasi (20-100 mg) dan tetap kontak dengan konsentrasi larutan MB (10 mg/L) pada pH optimal. Kecepatan agitasi dipertahankan pada 200 rpm. Konsentrasi pada waktu t (Ct) dan jumlah MB yang teradsorpsi pada waktu t (qt) ditentukan dengan menggunakan prosedur yang sama seperti dijelaskan di atas.

Untuk studi isoterm adsorpsi, berat adsorben yang dioptimalkan ditempatkan dalam kontak dengan lima konsentrasi awal yang berbeda dari larutan MB (5–25 mg/L) pada pH yang dioptimalkan. Kecepatan agitasi dijaga pada 200 rpm, dan konsentrasi pada kesetimbangan (Ce) dan jumlah MB yang teradsorpsi pada kesetimbangan (qe) ditentukan dengan menggunakan prosedur yang diberikan pada 2.8.
