Morgan Edwards projected a series of twelve volumes on a history of American Baptists, each volume dealing with a particular section of the country. Only five of these "volumes" have ever been published. Volumes one and two, covering materials on Baptists in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, were published in Philadelphia in 1770 and 1792, respectively.
