3. Menjelaskan cakupan sistem drainase permukaan

4 Berkepentingan dengan aliran air yang bergerak sebagai aliran air permukaan.

4 Persentase besarnya aliran air permukaan dinyatakan sebagai run off coefficient.

4 Debit air yang berasal dari air permukaan ditampung dan dialirkan ke dalam selokan samping kemudian dibuang melalui gorong-gorong ke tempat pembuangan.

4 Jenis selokan samping bisa terbuka atau tertutup tergantung pada pertimbangan perencanaan.

4.Menjelaskan cakupan drainase bawah permukaan

Drainase bawah permukaan dibuat untuk mengatasi pengaruh rembesan air, baik yang berasal dari air tanah maupun air hujan yang merembes ke dalam tanah yang kemungkinan dapat menaikkan permukaan air tanah sehingga mempengaruhi kadar air subgrade.

5.Menjelaskan bagan alir analisa hidrologi untuk perhitungan debit aliran yang harus ditrampung oleh selokan samping maupun gorong-gorong (rumus rasional) , serta analisa hidrolika untuk perhitungan dimensi selokan samping dan gorong-gorong.

6.Menjelaskan sifat-sifat air di dalam tanah (air higroskopis, air kapiler, air tanah grafitasi) dan pengaruhnya terhadap kadar air subgrade serta akibatnya terhadap bearing capacity dari subgrade.

7.Penjelasan tentang perlu atau tidaknya dibuat base drainage layer pada kondisi tertentu, kemudian penjelasan tentang komposisi dari filter material.
