FINDINGS AND DISCUSSION

This chapter consisted of research findings and discussion. It was discussed on research findings which includes data presentation and data analysis of Mix Freeze Group Strategy and students' reading comprehension, and also discussion which concerning to Mix Freeze Group Strategy and students' reading comprehension. This study aimed to improve students' reading Comprehension at SMAN 13 Makassar. Researchers focused on using the Mix Freeze Group Strategy to improve students' reading comprehension. The research procedure was present below.

Based on the table 4.1 above in pre-test there were 1 student classified as very good, 11 students classified as good, and 8 students classified as poor. The table above shows that the classification of the students based on the pre-test of experimental class was 1025 and their mean score is 51.25. It shows that students‟

reading comprehension in average score before apply Mix Freeze Group Strategy and classified as good. The reason why the result of the test classified as good because most of the students need attention in order to increase their vocabulary achievement reading comprehension material test which conducted in treatment.

To know the mean score analysis for reading comprehension test, the writer was calculated all scoresby used formal as follows. The mean score in pre-test was 1.025 which got from the sum of all the score to all number of sample then the result was51.25. it was classified as good because most of the score are classified as average scale form it criteria eight to ten errors in the test.

Based on table 4.2 above, before the students were treated by Mix Freeze Group Strategy, there was no student got excellent classification, 1 student was classified as very good (5%), 11 student classified as good (55%), and 8 student classified as poor (40%). After the writer gave the Pre-Test in the first research, the writer found that the students‟ got some difficulties in answering all of the question. The write found that most of the student less in their vocabulary achievement in order to answer test. The writer made conclusion based on the table above that most of the students at SMA Negeri 13 Makassar in reading comprehension test through Mix Freeze Group Strategy was poor.

Based on the table 4.2 above in the post-test, there was no student classified as excellent, 13 students classified as very good, 6 students classified as good, 1 students were classified poor and none of students classified as very poor.

The table 4.2 above shows that the sum of all score and classification of the students based on the post-test in experimental class is 1350 and their mean score is 70. The mean score classified as very good because the writer need to know how far the students‟ achievement after applied Mix Freeze Group Strategy not in individual but also the average achievement all of the number of sample.

It shows that students‟ reading comprehension straight after apply Mix Freeze Group Strategy was effective to improve students‟ reading comprehension at SMA Negeri 13 Makassar.

Based on the data on table 4.4 above, after applied Mix Freeze Group Strategy, there was no student classified as excellent, 13 students classified as very good, 6 students classified as good, 1 student classified as poor, and no students classified as very poor. The writer conluded that this strateegy is effective to improve students‟ reading comprehension for students at SMA Negeri 13 Makassar and they are classified as very good.

The writer concluded that the students‟ rate percentages post-test were higher than in pre-test. It proved after applying Mix Freeze Group Strategy in Reading Comprehension the students‟ percentage improves. It means that applied

the Mix Freeze Group Strategy in teaching and learning reading comprehension was effective to improve the students‟ reading comprehension at SMA Negeri 13 Makassar. This method was effective because the writer stimulated to train the students by develope reading related communication, language, build up their vocabulary achievement and learning skill group by Mix Freeze Group Strategy in order to make they more interest to know the whole of reading test then answer the question in easy way.

Based on the table 4.5 above, it indicats that the students‟ improvement of the first year students who taught through Mix Freeze Group Strategy was succeded because the result of the mean score of the students‟ pre-test (51.25) and post-test (70). The reason why this method succeded applied in class X Ips 4 SMA Negeri 13 Makassar because all of the students can improve their achievement by increasing their target score after their got treatment. The other reason is the result from pre-test to post-test are increased into twenty point then the students‟ improvement of reading comprehension by using Mix Freeze Group Strategy was 36.5%.

Based on the table above, the value of t-test is 3.84 is higher than t-table 2.093. It can be concluded that the using Mix Freeze Group Strategy was successfull in improving the students‟ reading comprehension.
