In achieving this ob·. objective. the work of classroom and laboratory, par· . participation in extracurricular activities, and contacts with faculty and fellow students are all important elements. The question of the right clothes to bring is an individual problem, but the following generalizations can be made. You will attend meetings, see movies, take a tour of the campus, and go to an introductory dance.

One of the most important social events of the fall season is the Fall Festival, sponsored by the Ag-Tech Student Council. When an Alfredian thinks of his campus, one of his first memories is of the carillon, for it is impossible to think of Alfred and not think of the bells. The festival lasts for five days, and is generally admitted to be one of the high floats of the scho;JI year.

In the morning there is a general clean-up, when the E'ntire student body works together to improve the appearance of the campus. Immediately after assembly, a stair singing competition is held on the steps of Kenyon Hall and most of the residence halls on campus participate. CAMPUS UNION: The "Union", located on the walk from Main Street to the center of campus, is the student cooperative.

COLLI':GE SONGS

Then, shaken by the magic of moonlit trees, And quickened by the kisses let down by a dreaming breeze. CHEERING FOR ALFRED We are out to cheer Alfred on, we will help her win the day, help her achieve athletic victories, through our shouts of beam. Purple and the gold victorious, Waving under a laughing sky, Make us bay, we will fight for Alfred.
