The researcher uses multiple choice (MC) test to measure the improvement of students' vocabulary mastery of Verb and Adjective by reading English magazine. This means that Reading English Magazine is effective in improving vocabulary mastery of students in the eleventh grade of SMA Muhammadiyah Limbung.

REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE

Concept of Vocabulary

On the other hand, passive vocabulary refers to the words that students can recognize and understand while reading or listening to someone speaking, but they do not use the words in speaking or writing. The vocabulary will make students practice life and will strengthen the belief that English can be used to express the same ideas or feeling that they express in their mother tongue (Finochiaro, 1974:38). Furthermore, in the teaching of vocabulary, the teacher can introduce the list of vocabulary. it is taken from the book. When teaching students about vocabulary, teachers should know the general knowledge of.

The purpose of teaching vocabulary is to make it easy for the teacher to formulate the material that will be taught to the students. In teaching vocabulary, the teacher must choose the words that are really needed by the students in communication. Frequent exposure and repetition means here that the teacher must give a lot of practice on repetition so that the students master the target words well.

When teaching vocabulary, the teacher should present the target words in such a way that the meaning of the target words is completely clear and unambiguous.

Correlation Between Reading and Vocabulary

Possessive adjective indicates possession or ownership, some of the most used possessive adjective are my, his, hers, our, their, your. Indefinite adjectives describe or modify a noun unspecifically, they give indefinite/unspecific information about the noun, the common indefinite adjectives are few, many, much, some, etc. Vocabulary building can be started from the teacher's practice, students are influenced by the conversation, briefly read the text and games.

One of the difficulties students face when learning English is vocabulary, because they always get confused when they don't find the meaning of words. Most of us, if we find the word difficult, continue reading in the hope that the meaning we read is not really important or that its meaning will become clear later. But sometimes these words we used to pass as the key to our reading as soon as possible.

So looking up the difficult words in the dictionary is better for us, but the skilled reader understands as he reads.

Theoritical Frame Work

Hypothesis

The data showed that the influence of reading English magazine as media could improve students' vocabulary mastery. Percentage and frequency of English magazine reading by students in terms of vocabulary (Verb) mastery. Percentage of students and frequency of reading English magazine in terms of vocabulary mastery (adjective).

This is proven by the fact that the students' achievement in the posttest is higher than the pretest and when the average score of the students for vocabulary mastery focused on the verb in the pretest is 36.4 but after the treatment, in the posttest it is 87.6, the mastery of vocabulary of students becomes 14.65. %.

RESEARCH METHOD

Population and Sample

In this research, the writer will conduct research in IPS 11th grade of SMA. And the total population in this study is 25 students at SMA Muhammadiyah Limbung in academic year 2018/2019. The population consists of 1 class, the IPS class, with a total number of 25 students. In this study, the researcher takes all students in the IPS class, which consists of 25 students, as a research sample, because this class is one of the higher classes. The researcher thus takes the IPS class as a sample of this study, which is of higher quality. in another class.

According to Arikunto (2010), the sample is the number or part of the population studied. Arikunto (2010, p. 97) stated that "targeted sampling is a sampling technique used by the researcher if the researcher has a certain judgment in the sampling".

Instrument

The improvement of the students' mean score in pre-test to post-test proved that the use of English magazines is effective in improving students' vocabulary mastery in terms of verbs and adjectives. It proved that there was a significant improvement in the vocabulary mastery of the students in the 11th grade of SMA Muhammadiyah Limbung. Table 4.1 shows that the pupils' vocabulary control in terms of the verb in the pre-test was very poor, namely 36.4.

The improvement of the students' average score during the pre- and post-test proved that reading English magazines is effective in increasing the student's vocabulary (verb) mastery. Research Variable and Indicator

Technique of Data Collection

A pre-test is performed on the subject before any treatments are given to the experimental group in education. The aim of this post-test is to gain insight into the treatment used in the experimental group.

Technique of Data Analysis

From the results above, it can be seen that after the researcher administered the treatment and the post-test, students' vocabulary (verb) mastery was higher than vocabulary (adjective) mastery. Based on the above result, it can be concluded that teaching English by reading English magazine can improve students' vocabulary mastery in grade 11 of SMA Muhammadiyah limbung. This section presents a discussion of vocabulary mastery for students using English magazine reading on research findings obtained from the results of statistical data to show students' vocabulary mastery in the teaching and learning process through the influence of English magazine.

Description of data collected from vocabulary mastery in the verb and adjective expressions of the text. It was supported by the average score and percentage of students' pre-test and post-test scores. Improving students' vocabulary mastery in the verb sense Vocabulary mastery in the verb sense was about the ability to understand the text.

Based on the findings and discussion in the use of English magazine reading in the classroom, the data was made from the test, as the explanation in the previous part of the findings showed that the students' vocabulary mastery in terms of the adjective.

FINDING AND DISCUSSION

Discussion

Amri in thesis (2016) (“Increasing students' vocabulary mastery using EYE-Spy Game at the second grade of SMP Babussalam Selayar”) Found that the research discovered that the students' vocabulary mastery increased through the Eye-Spy Game by the increase of mean score of experimental class which is 65.62 in the pre-test and 86.82 in the post-test. Based on the results above, it can be concluded that teaching using traditional media can improve students' vocabulary mastery. Based on the findings above, the influence of reading English magazine made students have an average score was higher in vocabulary mastery than before knowing the English magazine.

Before the post-test, there was an improvement score of students from low to high using English magazine reading. It means that the application of English magazine reading in the treatment of SMA Muhammadiyah limbung of students was success to make students understand and know about vocabulary (adjective). The researcher concludes that the influence of the English magazine was a good media that could improve students' vocabulary mastery in the 11th grade students of SMA Muhammadiyah limbung in the academic year 2018/2019, could improve in terms of verb and adjectives.

The English teachers should try their best to guide the students in the learning and teaching process, especially in reading English magazines.
