MOMA strives to be a place where the boundaries to art-making are pushed and the lines between art and its environment are blurred.

Expanding on this vision, With/In strives to rethink the journey of art experience.

Circulation is carefully considered for users both inside and out as they travel across "paper-like strips" made to rise gently from the ground.

Corridors traditionally seen solely as a transitional spaces are redefined as passages of art discovery, whether it be peering down at rows of stored art from above or peeking into performances from the outside.

The smooth circulation through spaces guided by strips of programmes ensures the flow of art never ends at every spot and strip.

Cutting Up the Base Surface

Canvas is divided and cut into squares or long strips 1

Each square and strip is painted irregularly with thick layers of acrylic paint

Aggregation

The thickened squares or strips are brought back together into a single piece 3

Peeling the Ground

Creating modules from surfaces gently “bleeding out” from the ground 1

Non-uniform extensions applied to modules to generate avenues of circulation
