52 CHAPTER V

CONCLUSION AND SUGGESTION

In this chapter, the researcher presented the conclusion and suggestion based on the previous chapter. The conclusion summarized the finding and discussion in the chapter IV. The conclusion and suggestion were presented as follow :

5.1. Conclusion.

5.1.1 The implementation of BBC news video in teaching writing news item text

Based on the observation, there are two meetings in implementation of BBC news video in teaching writing news item text. The teacher started the class by greeting the students, checking the attendance list and reviewing the subject from previous meeting.

After that the teacher explained about the news item text by showing the slide of PPT. The teacher started to explain about the definition, the generic structures the languange features and the example of news item text. The students are asked to look for the generic structures.

After that the teacher showed the BBC news video to the students.

After watching the video, They are asked to write the important information about the news, composed it into news item text and analyzed the generic structure of the text. The implementation of BBC news video could make the students easier to understand the text and write the news item text easily. They got new vocabularies and

learned about how to construct the text in grammatically and arranged the generic structures. The teaching and learning process were nice and enjoyable. The students in the class were enthusiastic and active in the teaching and learning process because the teacher used BBC news video. The students like to learn English by using BBC news video. They feel enjoyed and interested to analyze the BBC news video because the visual of the video was interested to watch and they can be able to take the messages. This media can help the students in writing ability. Thus, the students can be able to write the news item text.

5.1.2 The students response after learning by using BBC news video

Based on the students’ response, most of the students like English. Many students like and enjoy the media. The BBC news video is a new media for the students. The process of teaching writing news item text by using BBC news video made the students interested to learn English. They feel helpful to write the news item text by using BBC news video. The students also agree to implement the BBC news video in the class. It could be proved based on the total count percentage of students’ responses. There were 66% students answer yes and 34% students answer no.

5.2 Suggestion.

Based on the result of the research, the researcher had some suggestion for the teacher, the students, and the further researcher.

5.2.1 The Teacher.

The teacher should create the enjoyable learning during the teaching and learning process in order to make the students become brave in sharing and expressing the opinions about the English learning. Teacher should use this BBC news video as media in the teaching learning process especially in writing ability on news item text. This media is very helpful for the students to compose the text. By using this video can make the students feel enjoyed and interested during the teaching and learning process. The teacher also should motivate the students to learn English. Thus, they can be more confident to express their opinion and explore their competence.

5.2.2 The Students.

The students should practice more in order to get the better achievement in writing ability. The students should read the English book or dictionary to get the new vocabularies, so it will be easy for the students to express their opinion, compose the text and arrange the sentence in grammatically form

5.2.3. Further Researchers.

The researcher would like to give the suggestion for the further researcher that the result of this research can be used as the additional reference when conducts the similar research about teaching writing. It is also expected that the further researcher could conduct a research by using this media for other skill
