The purpose of this study was to find out how students, especially English education students, prepare for the TOEFL exam at IAIN Parepare, and how the preparation of English education students in the 7th semester affects the TOEFL score obtained by the preparation made before the exam. The results of this study showed that, on average, more English education students had a TEOFL score of 450 than those who prepared before taking the TOEFL exam only obtained results from the relative TOEFL score. To formulate the second question, it is possible to see the perception of each student on how the impact of TOEFL exam preparation can be seen on the students' results here, so that it can be said that the students' preparation had no effect. on the obtained TOEFL score, taking into account the total score that the students obtained.

Out of the 21 participants, 14 scored a TOEFL score of 450 with their TOEFL preparation, 1 other scored a TOEFL score of 470 with their TOEFL preparation, I scored a TOEFL score of 483 with their TOEFL preparation, and the other 2 with their TOEFL preparation achieved a relatively high TOEFL score of around 503 before the TOEFL exam, and 1 achieved a relatively high TOEFL score of around 520 with pre-TOEFL preparation.

The TOEFL test consists of four different sections: written comprehension, oral comprehension, written expression, oral expression. The purpose of this study was to determine the degree of readiness of students for taking the TOEFL exam and to find out how preparation before the TOEFL exam affects the TOEFL scores obtained by students. Researchers simply want to see and describe whether preparation adds a positive value to TOEFL scores obtained by students.

To learn how English students are preparing for the TOEFL exam at IAIN Parepare. The findings of this study aim to contribute to the understanding of how the TOEFL test scores of students at IAIN Parepare are important preparations of students towards the TOEFL exam at IAIN. The findings of this study are expected to provide useful information about how English students prepare for the TOEFL exam in IAIN Parepare, how English students score TOEFL in IAIN Parepare, and how student preparation affects TOEFL scores in IAIN Parepare.

Saya pribadi merasa waktu untuk tes TOEFL tidak cukup, mungkin karena itu yang saya lakukan juga. Tidak terbiasa bertanya terlalu banyak, bagi sebagian orang yang terbiasa mengikuti tes TOEFL bisa dikatakan waktu pengerjaannya cukup efisien. Ya, saya setuju karena seperti namanya, tes TOEFL bisa dikatakan bisa mengukur kemampuan bahasa Inggris seseorang, apalagi jika tes ini diselenggarakan oleh lembaga resmi.

Menurut saya, hal ini cukup efektif mengingat skor pemeringkatan TOEFL ITP mempunyai standarisasi dan level yang cukup untuk memudahkan dalam mengkategorikan kemampuan berbahasa siswa sehingga kemampuan berbahasa Inggris dapat cepat diketahui, terutama untuk melatih kemampuan dasar berbicara. . Saya rasa waktu untuk tes TOEFL sudah cukup, yang jadi masalah kadang bukan seberapa efisien waktunya, tapi seberapa efisien alatnya. Biaya untuk tes TOEFL tidaklah murah, sehingga semakin tinggi nilainya maka sertifikat tersebut akan berguna untuk mengajukan beasiswa atau sekedarnya. untuk mempersiapkan lamaran pekerjaan yang berkualitas.
