ABSTRACT

Development of a Competency Based Learning Model in the Decision Support System Course.

This research was based on a preliminary study and a need analysis conducted on the Decision Support System (DSS) course, that was found the problem that the DSS learning was not yet optimal. This was due to several factors such as the inaccurate model and technical implementation of learning, and the concepts of active student learning has not been achieved. The needs analysis also showed the needs of lecturers and students who have high activities for the learning process. This study aims to develop a practical, valid, and effective Competency based learning (CBL) model in DSS courses among universities.

This study uses apply a Research and Development model, the methods and steps of development by using 4D model of 4 stages namely, Define, Design, Development, Dessiminate. The analysis technique used the Aiken 'V' test and the validity used by the expert test and Focus Group Discussion (FGD). Practicality and effectiveness tests were carried out by applying the product to students and lecturers by using the experimental class and the control class.

This study found a Competency based learning Model on Decision Support System learning at STMIK Triguna Dharma. The models and supporting systems meet the validity criteria and are suitable for use according to experts. The Development models and products meet the criteria of practicality with practical value according to lecturers and students. The results of the effectiveness test showed that the activity and student learning outcomes have been improve by using the CBL model rather than the control class model. The results of this study can be apply by lecturers, students and learning designers by using the Android- based DSS application. The application can help students apply manual calculations on the DSS method in this study, so that DSS was more optimal and practical to better understanding the material in learning the DSS course.

ABSTRAK

Pengembangan Model Competency Based Learning pada Mata Kuliah Sistem Pendukung Keputusan

Penelitian ini didasarkan kepada studi pendahuluan dan analisis kebutuhan yang dilakukan pada Mata Kuliah Sistem Pendukung Keputusan (SPK), ditemukan permasalahan bahwa pembelajaran SPK belum optimal. Hal ini disebabkan oleh beberapa faktor seperti model dan teknis pelaksanaan belajar yang belum tepat, serta belum tercapainya konsep pembelajaran mahasiswa aktif.

Analisis kebutuhan juga menemukan kebutuhan dosen dan mahasiswa yang memiliki harapan besar terhadap proses pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menciptakan model pembelajaran Competency based learning (CBL) pada mata kuliah SPK dikalangan perguruan tinggi yang praktis, valid, dan efektif.

Penelitian ini menggunakan model Research and Development (Penelitian dan Pengembangan), metode dan langkah dari pengembangan menggunakan model 4D dengan 4 tahapan yaitu, Define, Design, Development, Dessiminate.

Teknik analisis data menggunakan uji Aiken’V’ dan validitas menggunakan uji pakar serta Focus Group Discussion (FGD). Uji kepraktisan dan efektivitas dilakukan dengan menerapkan produk ke mahasiswa dan dosen dengan menggunakan kelas ekperimen dan kelas kontrol.

Penelitian ini menemukan sebuah model Competency based learning pada pembelajaran SPK pada STMIK Triguna Dharma. Model dan sistem pendukung memenuhi kriteria validitas dan layak digunakan menurut para pakar. Model dan produk pengembangan memenuhi kriteria praktilitas dengan nilai praktis menurut dosen dan mahasiswa. Hasil uji efektivitas menunjukkan bahwa aktivitas dan hasil belajar mahasiswa lebih baik menggunakan model CBL daripada model kelas kontrol. Hasil penelitian ini lebih efektif digunakan oleh dosen, mahasiswa dan perancang pembelajaran dengan menggunakan aplikasi SPK berbasis Android.

Apliaksi dapat membantu mahasiswa dalam menguji perhitungan manual pada metode SPK yang diteliti, sehingga pembelajaran SPK lebih optimal dan praktis dalam meningkatkan pemahaman materi pada perguruan tinggi.
