ABSTRACT

SRI SULASTRI PUTRI DURI, 2014. Improving the Students’ Writing Skill Through Quantum Learning Method (A Classroom Action Research at The First Grade Students in MTs Guppi Taipa Le’leng.), under the thesis of English Education Department, the Faculty of Teachers Training and Education, Muhammadiyah University of Makassar. Supervisor by Hj. Andi Tenri Ampa and Hasnawati Latief

This research aimed at find out the improvement of the students’ writing ability in descriptive paragraph through Quantum Learning Method at The First Grade Students inMTs Guppi Taipa Le’leng.

The method of this research was a Classroom Action Research that consisted of two cycles. One cycle consisted of four meetings. It means that there were eight meetings for two cycles. The instrument of the research was observation and writing test indicated that the students have high score in writing achievement. The subject of this research was The First Grade Students in MTs Guppi Taipa Le’leng academic years 2013-2014 by Quantum Learning Method. It consisted of 25 students.

The findings of this research indicated that the improvement of the students’

in writing descriptive paragraph through Quantum Learning Methodand the students’

participation in teaching and learning process. The means scores in diagnostic test was 40.73 become 58.33 in first cycle, and after revision in the second cycle the mean score in the second cycle was 77.9. The improvement of students’ ability viewed from organization and content through Quantum Learning Method was presenting descriptive paragraph material at The First Grade Students in MTs Guppi Taipa Le’leng, improves the students’ ability signifincatly. The mean score of content and organization in the cycle was greater than the mean score of test in the first cycle (82.41>56.44). The researcher findings indicated that use Quantum Learning Method could increaseof students’ ability in terms oforganization and content.
